📋 Script Details
Description
Adds nodecast-tv, a modern, web-based IPTV player featuring Live TV, EPG, Movies (VOD), and Series support. Built with performance and user experience in mind.
The nodecast-tv script is ready for testing: bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://github.com/community-scripts/ProxmoxVED/raw/main/ct/nodecast-tv.sh)"
Note: This is not in the official repo yet—it's just a dev version! After merging into ProxmoxVE, it will need to be recreated.
I've installed nodecast-tv ver1.5.1 using the advance options. Updated to 2.1.1 no problems.
The installation went through smoothly, got the app configured with a m3u, EPG and Xstream Code OK, all the media sources show up correctly along with the epg info, even the up next info shows OK.
But in all cases, clicking the play button only results in the spinning wait circle, which never times out and doesn't provide any error.
I know the sources are good because I have them functioning on the TV (via Tivimate) and within Jellyfin. My local sources shouldn't require any transcoding as they are 1080/720p H.264 HLS format, served via the tunarr app.
Any ideas on getting playback would be appreciated as the app looks and feels great, easy to setup with a nice UI.
I was testing this right now and I know what's wrong. When I was writing the script, the m3u I used worked fine but now trying more some hang when trying to play. The script just needs ffmpeg as a dependencie and they all start working fine. I'm preparing a new PR with that and also adding hw acceleration.
@MickLesk I was trying to use the setup_ffmpeg function, even when using with the different types I always get the same error: ✖️ in line 717: exit code 100 (APT: Package manager error (broken packages / dependency problems)) → apt install -y build-essential yasm nasm pkg-config libx264-dev libx265-dev libvpx-dev libmp3lame-dev libfreetype6-dev libass-dev libopus-dev libvorbis-dev libdav1d-dev libsvtav1-dev zlib1g-dev libnuma-dev libva-dev libdrm-dev
Package libsvtav1-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it: libsvtav1enc-dev Error: Package 'libsvtav1-dev' has no installation candidate
In fact libsvtav1-dev doesn't appear in the debian apt repo.
It's ok to just use apt install ffmpeg -y to correct the script? I have the PR ready.
@MickLesk With ffmpeg the video feed loads currectly (Probe result gives correct video and audio codecs).
I can't get some of the streams of my m3u playlist I'm using to play, but I think is somthing CORS related, because the video and audio codec is the same and they work ok on VLC.
I also tried running the software through docker and the result is the same, so I think the implementation in the script is correct.
