   Fixed in v1.32.2. Same root cause as #21 — this is the second issue filed by a single event.

   One read-only-volume refusal reached Sentry down two independent paths:

   • telemetry.recordUpdaterEvent → captureMessage('updater error: …') → updater error: Cannot update while running on a read-only volume. The application is on a read-only volume. Please move the application and try again. If you're on macOS Sierra or later, you'll need to move the application out of the Downloads directory... #21
   • the raw Error object → @sentry/electron's global handlers → Error: Cannot update while running on a read-only volume. The application is on a read-only volume.    Suppressing it in the updater's own error handler only closes the first path, so the fix had to cover both.

   Fix (c477566, 54ea1cd):

   • src/main/updaterErrors.ts (new, pure, 100% covered) — isReadOnlyVolumeError + the existing missing-config and transient-network predicates, unified behind isBenignUpdaterError.
   • src/main/sentry.ts — a beforeSend hook that drops any event whose message or exception value matches a benign updater state. This is the last line of defence for whichever path we didn't anticipate. It's wrapped in try/catch returning the event unchanged: a filter that throws must never swallow a real crash report.
   • tests/electron/updaterErrors.test.ts pins the verbatim strings from this issue and updater error: Cannot update while running on a read-only volume. The application is on a read-only volume. Please move the application and try again. If you're on macOS Sierra or later, you'll need to move the application out of the Downloads directory... #21 as constants, so a future regex change that resurrects this issue fails the build. Negative cases are pinned too — EROFS: read-only file system is a genuine error and must still be reported.

   The app itself was never broken; it simply can't self-update from a read-only volume. Move it to /Applications to re-enable updates.
