Automatic updater fails

I just installed the latest version. When starting it up, it says it cannot update. Looking at the console it says the edDSA key could not be decoded and the public key is invalid for SoundBridge. It seems like the key is completely missing.

I plan to roll out this app, but this issue causes me to hold off until it is fixed. Could it be made so the update process is fixed?

+1, same here.
I get the "Unable to Check For Updates" error every time I launch the app. It's really frustrating on a fresh install - please fix this ASAP!

Also affects #8 (same root cause).

The root cause is that both the Sparkle feed URL (SUFeedURL) and the
EdDSA public key (SUPublicEDKey) in Info.plist are empty strings:

Sparkle tries to check for updates on launch
(checkForUpdatesInBackground() in SoundBridgeApp.swift) but has no
feed URL to query and no valid signing key, so it fails immediately.

To fix this properly, the project needs:

1. Generate an EdDSA key pair using Sparkle's generate_keys tool
2. Set SUPublicEDKey to the generated public key
3. Host an appcast XML file (e.g. via GitHub Pages or as a raw file in
   the repo) and set SUFeedURL to its URL
4. Sign release archives with the private key using Sparkle's
   sign_update tool

As a quick workaround until the update infrastructure is in place:
remove the checkForUpdatesInBackground() call in
SoundBridgeApp.swift -> initializeUpdater() so the app stops
showing the error on every launch. The manual "Check for Updates"
button in Settings can remain. It just won't do anything useful until
the feed is configured.
