The Ubuntu Project docs is also a Sphinx project; so I strongly suggest replacing these links as ref or doc (and not 'regular' Markdown links) and referencing them with intersphinx.
Reason being these ref or doc links will fail when you run make run or make html without having to use the make linkcheck target.

So in conf.py, add this somewhere towards the end of the file

}

Then in the files that link to these external Sphinx sites, use the ref or doc directive to link.
