I am considering shutting down this organisation and its repositories in the future, as I want to move away from Github.
I was not a huge fan of the Microsoft buyout already, even less so of the current AI fenzy ripping off open-source projects of their code and purpose to train and burn money on resource-hungry AI bots, when we are in a dire situation already and should be aiming at efficiency and reducing our resource usage instead.
Then, as of 2026, the US government has made it clear that the US is also an unreliable and threatening partner to every non-US country and individual (and US individual as well if you ask me), and as such, I decided to move away as many things as I can from any US-based service provider, which includes Github.
Fwiw these mirrors have not even been a burden and I appreciate the service quality that Github has offered over the years and how it made this a very low effort and cost free task. It simply doesn't seem possible to me to look away from the issues above anymore.
I don't use these repositories myself anymore, but I know several other projects and people do, although I don't even know the full extend of it. I'm now considering archiving the repositories and stopping the mirroring, then deleting everything at a later time. I haven't decided yet on a schedule, I'll update this README when I do.
