Code of Conduct

Our pledge

We as members, contributors, and maintainers pledge to make participation in the beatrax community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, colour, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Our standards

Examples of behaviour that contributes to a positive environment:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologising to those affected by our mistakes
  • Focusing on what is best for the overall community

Examples of unacceptable behaviour:

  • The use of sexualised language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

A note on financial data

Issues, discussions and pull requests routinely carry statement excerpts, log output and screenshots. Redact IBANs, card numbers, account balances and names before posting — your own and anyone else's. Asking a reporter to redact something is always in order; posting someone else's financial details is never.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behaviour may be reported to the maintainers through the private reporting path in each repository (the Security tab → Report a vulnerability, which reaches the maintainers privately and is the channel used for conduct reports too). All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

Maintainers are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident, and will remove, edit or reject contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct.

Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
