Local development runs PostgreSQL 15 in
docker-compose.yml, while the deployed database runs 17 (PG_VERSIONincommon/openshift.database.yml), so local dev doesn't match what ships.Change
docker-compose.yml:postgres:15→postgres:17, matching the deployedPG_VERSIONandbcgov/quickstart-openshift.Why Renovate didn't propose it
bcgov/renovate-config(2026.9.26) disables major updates for database images (postgres, mysql, mariadb, mongo, mongodb, redis) because they need a data migration. The Dependency Dashboard (#53) detectspostgres 15with update18available but will not open a PR for it.Local volumes
This only affects local development; no deployed data changes. PostgreSQL 17 can't read a data directory created by 15, so anyone with an existing local database volume needs to run
docker compose down -vonce beforedocker compose up.Verification
No CI job starts the compose stack.
postgres:17starts locally with this file's settings and answerspg_isready.
