Finally we have multiple options for N64 on ARM32
- Mupen64Plus Next (Upto-date)
- GLupeN64 [old mupen64plus]
- parallel-n64
I tested these cores on Lumia 950 & 950XL Performance is good and playable as below
- Supports high res textures
- Very accurate
- Advanced options
- Good speed if
Threaded Renderactive
- Power consuming is high
- Will be slow if the CPU went hot
This is old version of Mupen64Plus made by gizmo98
- Faster than the newer version
- Same issue above when you play for long time
- No high res textures support
I consider this the best option
- Very fast
- Playable performance
- Supports multiple engines (Rice, Gln64, Glide64)
- No high res textures support
- Rice has some problems with games like Smash bros
- Gln64 has textures issue in some games
- Glide64 is good but not very fast
To get better performance in Mupen64Plus (1 & 2 cores) I had to disable FrameBuffer
This will result in some issues with few games
so you need to activate it manually based on the game
In some cases/games Mupen64Plus Next with Threaded Render is faster than Parallel N64
