A collection of downloadable DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) iPhone Shortcuts designed to provide fast, structured access to DBT skills directly from your Home Screen.
These shortcuts are built to make skills:
- Immediate
- Simple
- Structured
- Accessible during overwhelm
- iPhone running iOS 16 or later
- Apple Shortcuts app (preinstalled on iOS)
- Safari browser (recommended for downloading)
Follow these steps for each shortcut you want to install.
- Open this GitHub repository on your iPhone using Safari.
- Tap the
.shortcutfile you want to install. - Tap the three dots (•••) in the top-right corner of the file page.
- Tap Download.
- After downloading, tap the Download icon in Safari
(located next to the URL/search bar at the bottom of the screen). - Tap the downloaded
.shortcutfile. - It will automatically open in the Shortcuts app.
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Add Shortcut.
The shortcut will now appear in your Shortcuts Library.
If your iPhone blocks installation:
- Open Settings
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Tap Shortcuts
- Enable Allow Untrusted Shortcuts
- Try opening the downloaded file again
Note: You may need to run at least one shortcut before this option appears.
To use the shortcut like a standalone app:
- Open the Shortcuts app.
- Tap the three dots (•••) on the shortcut.
- Tap the Share icon (square with arrow).
- Select Add to Home Screen.
- Rename if desired.
- Tap Add.
You’ll now see it as an icon on your Home Screen.
To access your shortcut quickly:
- Press and hold on your Home Screen.
- Tap the + in the top-left corner.
- Search for Shortcuts.
- Choose a widget size:
- Small (1 shortcut)
- Medium (multiple shortcuts)
- Tap Add Widget.
- Press and hold the widget.
- Tap Edit Widget.
- Select your DBT shortcut.
- Make sure permissions are enabled.
- Run it manually once before using the widget.
- Restart your phone.
- Remove and re-add the widget.
If you experience a problem:
- Go to the Issues tab in this repository.
- Click New Issue.
- Include:
- The name of the shortcut
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened
- Your iOS version (if known)
- Screenshots (if possible)
