Hi, I'm Steven 👋

📍York, London, Shanghai, Shenzhen

I am an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the University of York, where I lead the ReFlex Lab (Real-Time and Flexible Cyber-Physical Systems Lab). I'm based in the beautiful, medieval city of York, United Kingdom.

I build real-time systems by day and robots by night --- and open-source everything. With over a decade of R&D experience in real-time, embedded and cyber-physical systems, I'm passionate about exploring how systems engineering, embedded systems, AI and robotics can shape a better future. I'm a researcher, a blogger and a full-stack developer in robotics and embedded systems. I am also the founder of YFRL (YF Robotics Laboratory), which is an open-source, knowledge-sharing robotics community.
