Standalone script (requests only) for Confluence Data Center/Server that downloads every attachment of a space into folders mirroring the page tree, with PAT or basic auth, retries, resume (--skip-existing) and a CSV manifest. …ogging Settings (URL, token, space key, output dir) live in a CONFIGURATION block at the top so the script runs without arguments; progress is logged as [page n/N] with per-file sizes to the console and _download.log. confluence-diagnostics.py checks Python/requests, configuration (read from the download script), proxy, DNS, TCP, TLS, /status, token, space access, page and attachment listing, a sample download and output folder write access, logging each step to confluence-diagnostics.log. The download script now reports a missing requests library or unexpected errors and waits for Enter before closing. requests only trusts certifi, so internal company CAs that Windows trusts were rejected. On Windows both scripts now build a CA bundle from certifi plus trusted ROOT/CA store certificates, pass verify on every request (session.verify is overridden by REQUESTS_CA_BUNDLE/CURL_CA_BUNDLE), skip retries on SSL errors, and connect to the Confluence host directly (DIRECT_CONNECTION). Diagnostics compare certifi vs. Windows store and show the proxy requests would use.
