BICS (bics-network)

About this repository

This is not our API. This repository is an independent, third-party profile of a company's publicly available API surface, maintained by API Evangelist. API Evangelist does not operate, host, resell, or support this company's APIs, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the company unless stated on the profile.

Where the information came from. Everything here is assembled from material a member of the public can reach with a browser and no credentials — the company's own website, developer portal and documentation, the specifications it publishes for public use (OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, JSON Schema, apis.json, llms.txt and similar), its public repositories, and its public status, pricing and changelog pages. Nothing here is obtained by breaching a system, defeating an access control, or using credentials of any kind.

The rating is an independent assessment. The Kin Score and Agent Readiness rating are independently calculated scores of a company's public API artifacts, produced by API Evangelist against a published rubric. They are not certifications, endorsements, security assessments, or audits, and they score published artifacts — not the quality, safety, or security of the software.

Corrections, re-scores, and removal are free. No partnership, contract, or purchase is required, and you do not need to justify the request.

  • Something wrong? Open an issue on this repository, or email info@apievangelist.com.
  • Published something new? Ask for a re-score and we will re-run the rating.
  • Want the listing taken down? Say so and we will honor it. The profile is reduced to your company name, a factual description, and a link to your own site, and the company is recorded as unrated — never scored zero for having asked.

Response times. Acknowledgement within one business day; removal or restriction within two business days; corrections and re-scores within five business days.

Not from the company, and here with a question? You are welcome here — we would rather be the front line and point you the right way than have a good report go nowhere. What this repository can answer is narrow, though, so it is worth knowing who you are actually looking for:

  • A question about how the API works, an account, billing, or a bug in the service — that is the company's own support, not us. We profile this API; we do not operate it and cannot see your account.
  • A bug in an open-source project we only catalog — file it on that project's own repository. This has happened with a real and correct bug report that reached us instead of the people who could fix it, which helped nobody.
  • Anything about this listing itself — the description, the tags, the rating, a missing or wrong artifact — is ours. Open an issue here.
  • Not sure, or something general about API Evangelist or APIs.io — open an issue on the APIs.io Inbox and we will route it.

This repository contains no software, and we will never ask you to download anything. There is no build, release, installer, or binary here — only text and machine-readable API descriptions, so there is nothing here that can be "corrupt" or need "repairing". Any issue, comment, or email claiming otherwise and offering a download link is not from us and is hostile. Do not follow the link; it is a lure. Report it to GitHub and, if you like, tell us at info@apievangelist.com so we can take it down.

On a security or compliance team? Email info@apievangelist.com with security in the subject line and you will get a person, not a form. We will tell you exactly which public URLs this profile was built from so your team can see the same surface we did, and we will take the listing down on request while you work through it.

Full detail: Where this data comes from

BICS is an international communications enabler and wholesale carrier, part of Proximus Global (alongside Telesign and Route Mobile). Its developer portal at developer.bics.com exposes OAuth2-secured REST APIs at https://api.bics.com for A2P SMS and OTP delivery, global number provisioning and portability (MyNumbers), call detail records, emergency services, and carrier-grade cloud connectivity. BICS also offers mobile identity capabilities — phone number verification, HLR/reachability lookup, SIM-swap detection, and device-location signals for anti-fraud and KYC — as partner and carrier contract products across the Proximus Global network rather than as self-serve endpoints.

Access model (read this first)

BICS's developer portal is not fully self-serve. To use an API you register to consume it on the portal, BICS approves the consumption request (confirmed by email), and the emailed instructions explain how to generate an OAuth2 token that you then send as a Bearer credential on every request. A sandbox environment (https://sandbox.api.bics.com) is published for the MyNumbers family for pre-production testing.

The eight portal APIs below are confirmed from live OpenAPI 3.0.1 definitions (saved under openapi/). Their endpoints and base URLs are real.

The Number Verification and Fraud Prevention / Reachability entries are endpointsModeled: BICS markets these mobile-identity and anti-fraud capabilities (number verification, HLR/reachability lookup, SIM-swap detection, device-location signals — aligned with GSMA Open Gateway / CAMARA network APIs) and delivers them as contact-sales carrier contract products across Proximus Global, not as self-serve endpoints. No public OpenAPI surface is published for them, so no request definitions are fabricated here.

APIs

BICS SMS API (confirmed)

RESTful A2P messaging for sending text messages worldwide, including one-time passcodes (OTP) for phone number verification and two-factor authentication. Single and bulk outbound requests, delivery-info retrieval, inbound message subscriptions, and conversion reporting.

BICS MyNumbers API (confirmed)

Order and manage ready-to-use BICS Cloud Numbers (IBN), International Freephone Numbers (ITFS), and Global Mobile Numbers (GMN) — stock, price lists, reference data, single/bulk orders, and routes.

BICS MyNumbers Number Porting API (confirmed)

Submit and track number portability requests — create requests, attach Letter of Authorization documents, update addresses, and check specifications and statuses.

BICS MyNumbers CDR API (confirmed)

Request, poll, and download Call Detail Records (CDRs) for inbound and outbound calls, with available-date discovery and multiple download formats.

BICS MyNumbers Address Management API (confirmed)

Create, edit, retrieve, and delete the addresses and supporting documents required by local regulation for number provisioning.

BICS MyNumbers Disconnection API (confirmed)

Request disconnection of your numbers by building disconnection orders, adding or removing order items, and submitting them.

BICS MyNumbers Emergency Services API (confirmed)

Enable emergency services on SIP-T numbers — check per-country requirements and create, update, and submit emergency-service orders.

BICS Connect API (confirmed)

Carrier-grade Cloud Connect service combining BICS layer-2 transport with dedicated cloud connectivity — create, list, modify, and delete connections and interconnects.

BICS Number Verification API (endpointsModeled — contact sales)

Phone number verification and mobile authentication for anti-fraud, KYC, and onboarding — validating that a mobile number is real, active, and controlled by the user, including OTP-based flows. Marketed by BICS and delivered across Proximus Global as a partner/carrier contract product; access is contact-sales, not self-serve, so no OpenAPI surface is published.

BICS Fraud Prevention and Reachability API (endpointsModeled — contact sales)

Network-signal services for fraud prevention and mobile identity — HLR / reachability lookup (operator, ported status, active/blocked SIM state), SIM-swap detection, and device-location signals used to score login and transaction risk. Offered as carrier contract products across Proximus Global and aligned with GSMA Open Gateway / CAMARA network APIs; contact-sales, not self-serve.
