Remove camel:core from the Kamelet dependencies: every Camel runtime has it #3096

Closed

Description

@davsclaus

Claude Code on behalf of Claus Ibsen.

162 of the 259 Kamelets on main list camel:core in spec.dependencies. The other 97 leave it out and work the same way, because every Camel runtime has camel-core. So the entry adds nothing, and it is inconsistent across the catalog.

camel:kamelet is different: it is the camel-kamelet artifact that runs the template, not part of camel-core. All 259 Kamelets list it, and it should stay.

Why it matters now:

Proposal:

  • Remove the camel:core line from the 162 Kamelets, in the kamelets/ sources and the library copies.
  • Regenerate the catalog SBOM.
  • The change is mechanical. It is one PR if wanted.

Related: #3095 removes six dependencies that are actually unused.
