I'm Agniva Chatterjee, a CSE student who likes taking an idea from "this could be useful" to "why does this actually look good?"
I work across the boundary between software engineering, UI/UX and visual design.

Not everything I've built lives in a public repository.
These are the pieces that best explain how I work.
Full-stack academic management system
A private internal platform used by Adamas University faculty to record syllabus coverage.
What I worked on
- Project lead
- Database schema & migrations
- Authentication / JWT sessions
- Express API routes
- PDF lesson-plan parsing
- React dashboards
- Responsive UI
- Email utilities
- Admin & faculty workflows

Civic-innovation platform
A civic technology project built around making government/public-service problem reporting and institutional coordination more usable.
Focus: product thinking · frontend engineering · UX · data flows · real-world workflows
Arduino · sensors · voice · motion
One of the earliest things I built: a small vehicle controlled through gesture and voice input.
Built in October 2022. The code was uploaded later in January 2023.
A background utility that watches a folder and automatically compresses incoming files.

Built because manually compressing PDFs is annoying.
Which is, frankly, a perfectly respectable reason to automate something.
Java Swing + MySQL + JDBC.
Full CRUD application with seven GUI classes, packaged as a runnable .jar.
The public repositories tell a slightly unusual story.
Java dominates because 114 Java files were written before university started — coursework, experiments, algorithms and increasingly questionable school projects.
Then the stack changed.

"okay, now let's make the UI good too"
The private work is where the stack became much broader.
The public record just happens to be the part GitHub can count.
Some are serious. Some are coursework. Some should probably remain in the archaeological record.
The numbers are useful.
The shape of the activity is more interesting.
This is what the public record actually looks like.
Last push: 21 January 2023.
Next push: 4 May 2026.
Thirty-nine months.
Nothing in between.
No commits. No repositories. No convenient little green squares to make the graph look healthy.
OPEN THE SPAN · it wasn't empty
The gesture-and-voice controlled car was built in October 2022 — accelerometer, Arduino, voice input, an actual vehicle that moved when told to.
Its code was uploaded in January 2023.
It was documented properly three years later.
The rest of that period isn't represented here.
And that's okay.
Work done. Credit unfiled.
One bar per commit.
Height = commits that day.
Which makes 4 May 2026 less of a date and more of a structural event.

The button was weird. The typo is load-bearing. |
fix: center quick links on 404 page |
Nobody visits a 404 page. It is centred anyway. |
fix: redesign 404 page to match actual site branding |
Same page. Different week. Still nobody. |

The bullet is not part of the format. |

Some of the work isn't code.
