Alternative styling for the new interface: the Broadcast finish. Stacked on #38 (base feature/affine-ui).

The Broadcast finish

A 1960s studio rack panel: blue-grey hammertone enamel between rack ears, an engraved name plate, alphanumeric Nixie tubes for the note over an amber window, a chrome confidence VU meter whose green zone starts at Sensitivity, a lock jewel, the Nixie carrier counter beside a phosphor scope, bakelite knobs and piano keys.

This is one of three alternatives (Broadcast, Hi-Fi, Stealth), each with a matching PR in the other repository. They are for comparison: pick one finish and merge that branch in both repositories.

Changes

  • libs/affine-ui: kit 2.0, byte-identical on every variant branch in both repositories. It adds the Broadcast, Hi-Fi and Stealth finishes next to Laboratory, and DESIGN_LANGUAGE.md describes each finish.
  • source/PluginEditor.*: the editor in the Broadcast finish. Controls, parameter contract, telemetry freshness rules, accessibility and focus order are unchanged from Rendered instrument UI on the shared Affine design language #38.
  • tests/TestEditor.cpp: the contrast test checks the readout ink against its window; captures settle the needles first.
  • README.md, img/hdn-ring-modulator-ui.png: description and screenshot for this finish.

All four finishes

Both plug-ins in each of the four finishes

Finish Suppressor HDN Ring Modulator
Laboratory affinedsp/suppressor#3 #38
Broadcast affinedsp/suppressor#4 #39 (this PR)
Hi-Fi affinedsp/suppressor#5 #40
Stealth affinedsp/suppressor#6 #41

Verification

  • ctest: 68/68 pass on macOS.
  • pluginval 1.0.4 at strictness 10: SUCCESS for the VST3.
  • The screenshots are captures from the editor tests.

Add the Broadcast, Hi-Fi and Stealth finishes alongside Laboratory:
hammertone, powder-coat and black-glass faceplates; bakelite and polished
aluminium knob materials, ribbed skirts and LED rings; piano-key, toggle,
polished-square and soft-key buttons; moulded, chrome and flush meter
housings with coloured zones and a centre rest; horizontal ladders;
alphanumeric Nixie tubes; a tuning dial and illuminated legends; jewel
lamps, lit windows, rack ears, name plates, end caps and screen glass.

The design language now describes each finish and shows both products in
all four.
A hammertone rack panel: alphanumeric Nixie note tubes over an amber
window, a confidence VU meter whose green zone starts at Sensitivity, a
lock jewel, the Nixie carrier counter beside a phosphor scope, bakelite
knobs and piano keys.
Describe the Broadcast displays and replace the screenshot with a capture from
the editor tests.

Closing in favour of the Stealth finish (#41), which is now part of #38. The branch is kept if you want to revisit this look.
