- Install Docker
- Build and Run the docker compose script
(I'm using Windows and VSCode 2019)
git clone https://github.com/addisonhammer/clue-less.git
cd clue-less
docker-compose build
docker-compose up
-
This should start four containers:
- clue-less_server (localhost:5000)
- clue-less_client (localhost:5001)
- clue-less_db (not exposed)
- clue-less_adminer (localhost:8080) (see #10)
-
If this is the first startup: Navigate to http://localhost:5000/api/db/create_database This will create the necessary database tables via server-side scripts.
-
Navigate to http://localhost:5000/api/setup_game This will initialize the game on the server with a secret 'MurderDeck' in the database. Any accusations made by clients will be compared against these randomly-selected values. (The random values selected are currently printed in the logs for testing purposes.)
-
Navigate to http://localhost:5001/ to get the client form
- Enter your name, choose a Suspect, Weapon, and Room, and click 'Submit'.
-
The client will send the Accusation using a GET request via the docker network
-
The server will receive the Accusation, check it against the database table 'MurderDeck', and return True if it matches.
-
The client will then display the Accusation made, and the results from the server.
-
Naviate to http://localhost:8080/ to open the database admin website username and password can be found in the docker-compose script. Change System to PostgreSQL
Clue-Less is currently still in the early prototype phase, so functionality is extremely limited and only coarsely represents our desired architecture.
