feat(mimo): fetch MiMo model catalog dynamically and add V2.6 series - #1748
Xiaomi released the MiMo-V2.6 series (mimo-v2.6-pro, mimo-v2.6-flash, mimo-v2.6-pro-ultraspeed) on 2026-09-22, and mimo-v2.5-pro / mimo-v2.5 stop working on 2026-10-21 10:00 (GMT+8) (deprecation notice). The dedicated MiMo provider only shipped a hardcoded 2-model catalog, so V2.6 models were invisible unless users reconfigured MiMo as an OpenAI-compatible provider.
This PR wires MiMo into the existing router-model pipeline (the same mechanism DeepSeek/Moonshot use) so the model picker populates from the account's own GET {baseUrl}/models response:
packages/types: add mimo to dynamicProviders; add V2.6 entries to mimoModels with official pay-as-you-go pricing; sync the v2.5 entries to the same page (flat pricing — the old >256K 2× multiplier no longer appears there); default model moves off the EOL'd mimo-v2.5-pro to mimo-v2.6-pro.
src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts (new): getMimoModels calls the OpenAI-compatible /models endpoint, merging responses with static mimoModels specs. Unknown models get MiMo-family defaults with preserveReasoning: true (a correctness requirement — MiMo requires reasoning_content pass-back in multi-turn tool calling).
modelCache: mimo is URL-scoped — the cluster URL (cn/sgp/ams/PAYG) selects the cache key.
webviewMessageHandler: fetches MiMo when an API key exists, honoring unsaved key/baseUrl form values (flush-on-change, mirroring DeepSeek/Moonshot). Unsaved mimoBaseUrl values are validated against the same four-endpoint allowlist as the persisted schema before any request is built; getMimoModels re-enforces the allowlist at the network boundary and rejects URL-embedded credentials.
Webview: the settings ModelPicker and useSelectedModel merge the fetched catalog with the static fallback, so post-V2.6 releases appear without an extension update. The picker itself is unchanged; the one new affordance is the MiMo settings Refresh Models button described below.
Webview fix: useSelectedModel resolves deepseek/moonshot/mimo from the shipped static catalog while router models are unavailable (loading, missing provider entry in the filtered host response, or query failure). Previously the task header rendered a bogus context window of 1 (108.1k / 1) for MiMo until the router catalog arrived.
New UI affordance: the MiMo provider settings gain a Refresh Models button (webview-ui/src/components/settings/providers/Mimo.tsx). It posts requestRouterModels with the form's current key + entrypoint and renders four states: idle, loading (spinner plus "Refreshing models list...", button disabled), success ("Models list refreshed successfully!"), and error (the host's failure message, or a generic fallback when no key is set). The button is disabled while there is no API key. No other provider's settings screen changes.
Security fix: the router-models handler now builds the MiMo handler from the resolved base URL rather than the raw stored one. In mixed state (a valid unsaved entrypoint alongside an off-list stored value) the allowlist guard accepted the request while MimoHandler's constructor rejected the stored value, and that throw escaped the whole requestRouterModels case — leaving the Refresh button stuck at Loading with no response posted.
Robustness fix: model-ID lookups are prototype-safe. IDs arrive straight from the provider's /models response, so an ID such as constructor used to resolve an inherited Object.prototype member and surface as a model with no metadata instead of the MiMo-family defaults.
Entrypoint schema unchanged (the 4 existing URLs still validate); thinking-mode behavior unchanged (thinking.type: "enabled" remains the handler default per the Deep Thinking docs).
Notes for reviewers
V2.6 context window (1M) / max output (128K) follow the published V2.5-line specs; the pricing page publishes no V2.6 spec table. Flagged here in case Xiaomi's console documents different values.
Cost metadata for models unknown to the static catalog falls back to family defaults (no invented pricing), matching the OpenAI-compatible provider's behavior today.
The old mimo-v2-flash exclusion note is preserved; the dynamic list will surface flash-family models again — V2.6-flash is a different generation, but if 400s resurface the fetcher is the single place to filter.
Test Procedure
packages/types full suite (434 tests)
src full suite (8,994 tests) — including new getMimoModels fetcher spec (merge/defaults/errors/abort, endpoint-allowlist + credential-leak regression cases, no-Authorization-header-without-key case) and requestRouterModels MiMo cases (stored creds, flush on unsaved values, no-flush on stored, rejection of non-allowlisted unsaved base URL, filtered single-provider request with stored credentials)
webview-ui full suite (1,868 tests) — incl. useSelectedModel router-over-static / static-fallback / invalid-ID-fallback / router-only-selection cases for mimo, not-ready static-catalog fallback cases, and ApiOptions → ModelPicker merged-catalog wiring tests
check-types (types / src / webview-ui) and pnpm lint (all 13 packages via pre-commit turbo run); eslint suppressions unchanged
Focused re-runs for CodeRabbit regression evidence: modelCache.spec.ts (65/65, MiMo dispatch + url/key cache isolation), mimo.spec.ts (23/23), webviewMessageHandler.routerModels.spec.ts (20/20 + new handler-allowlist case), useSelectedModel.spec.ts (80/80), ApiOptions.provider-filtering.spec.tsx (13/13)
Review-fix round (this revision): webviewMessageHandler.routerModels.spec.ts (29/29), fetchers/mimo.spec.ts (34/34), api/providers/mimo.spec.ts (60/60), modelCache.spec.ts (65/65), webviewMessageHandler.spec.ts + api-configuration.spec.ts + ContextProxy.spec.ts (173/173), packages/types mimo + provider-identifiers (20/20), webview-ui Mimo + useSelectedModel + useRouterModels + ApiOptions.provider-filtering (193/193). Every new regression test was mutation-verified: reverting each fix makes exactly the new cases fail.
Mimo.visual.tsx runs green against the committed container-generated baselines (2/2) — the webview-visual check passes on CI at the current head.
CI: knip / lifecycle-model-check / e2e (all green on 7d612f6; no lifecycle or i18n changes)
Scope: My changes are focused on the linked issue (one major feature/fix per PR).
Self-Review: I have performed a thorough self-review of my code.
Testing: New and/or updated tests have been added to cover my changes (if applicable).
Visual Snapshot (UI changes only): Added webview-ui/src/components/settings/providers/__tests__/Mimo.visual.tsx with two gallery stories (mimo-settings unconfigured / configured) covering the new Refresh Models affordance. Baselines are committed in this PR: generated by the pinned mcr.microsoft.com/playwright:v1.62.1-noble container (same image as .github/workflows/visual-regression.yml) from the pull_request run on this branch, copied from the workflow's -actual.png artifact into __screenshots__/ per webview-ui/AGENTS.md; webview-visual is green at the current head.
Documentation Impact: I have considered if my changes require documentation updates (see "Documentation Updates" section below).
The MiMo model catalog and its pricing metadata live in code (packages/types), and the settings picker reads from that catalog directly; no user-facing documentation page enumerates the hardcoded MiMo model list today.
Additional Notes
Addresses CodeRabbit pre-merge checks: (1) Security Boundaries — unsaved mimoBaseUrl is now validated against the four-endpoint Xiaomi allowlist both in webviewMessageHandler before constructing fetch options and inside getMimoModels at the network boundary, with credential-in-URL rejection; (2) Regression Evidence — focused tests added at the modelCache dispatch/cache-isolation, ApiOptions→ModelPicker, useSelectedModel, fetcher (no-Authorization-without-key), and webview-handler (filtered single-provider MiMo request) layers.
Mixed-state handler construction (P1).handlerFor() spreads the raw stored config, so the MiMo handler was built from the stored mimoBaseUrl while the allowlist guard validated the resolved one. With a valid unsaved entrypoint and an off-list stored value, the guard passed, the constructor threw, and the throw escaped requestRouterModels — no failure response, no aggregate response, Refresh stuck at Loading. Every handler built in that case now takes the resolved value (handlerConfiguration). The spec's buildApiHandler double now enforces MimoHandler's real constructor contract (same ALLOWED_BASE_URLS check) instead of being non-throwing, which is what had masked this.
Schema/allowlist drift, both directions (P2). The cross-check test previously only proved "every allowlisted URL parses", so adding a fifth literal to the zod union without an allowlist entry tripped nothing. It now enumerates the union's literals and asserts set equality with ALLOWED_BASE_URLS.
Prototype-key model IDs (P2).mimoModels[id] and the webview's catalog reads resolved inherited Object.prototype members, so an ID like constructor produced a model with empty metadata instead of MiMo-family defaults. Added getMimoModelInfo() (own-property check) in packages/types and used it in the fetcher, MimoHandler.getModel(), and both useSelectedModel MiMo paths; getValidatedModelId now uses an own-property check too.
Comment accuracy (P3). The routerModels.spec.ts regression comment claimed the button "hung until its 10s timeout"; the 10s timeout lives in fetchRouterModels, which the Refresh button does not use. Corrected to "stuck at Loading indefinitely".
A four-seat security review of this PR found one HIGH and two MEDIUM items. All are fixed at the current head; the two claims they falsified are corrected here.
Inference client followed redirects (HIGH). The allowlist pinned the URL MimoHandlerbuilds its OpenAI client with, not the URLs that client can reach. The SDK's default fetch follows 3xx, so an allowlisted Xiaomi origin answering with a redirect replayed the POST body (system prompt, conversation, tool output) to an origin the allowlist never vetted, and re-scoped the bearer key wherever the fetch implementation forwards it. The /models fetcher already pinned redirect: "error"; the chat path did not. MimoHandler now sets fetchOptions = { redirect: "error" } on its client, so both paths carry the key under one transport rule. Set on the client rather than by replacing fetch, so proxy agents still apply. Regression test (api/providers/__tests__/mimo-redirect.spec.ts) runs the real SDK against a transport double that honours the fetch redirect contract: with the fix the 307 rejects, and with the fix reverted the request resolves with the attacker's response body, so the test fails on the old behavior rather than merely missing an assertion.
Claim corrected: "never leaves a Xiaomi origin on any path". That sentence (in the ALLOWED_BASE_URLS comment) was false as written for the reason above. The comment now states that the allowlist plus the redirect policy are what keep the key on a Xiaomi origin, and names both places that pin the policy.
flushRouterModels had no off-list guard (MEDIUM).flushRouterModels builds its handler eagerly from stored config and has no surrounding catch, so an off-list stored mimoBaseUrl made MimoHandler's constructor throw and escape webviewMessageHandler entirely, breaking the flush and raising an unhandled rejection. It now applies the same stored-value gate as requestRouterModels (shared isOffListMimoBaseUrl helper) and skips the MiMo dispatch. Mutation-verified: removing the guard makes the new test fail with the exact MIMO/MimoHandler/001 escape.
Claim corrected: "the only place an off-list value could newly enter storage". Also false: ZooCodeAPI.setConfiguration (src/extension/api.ts) wrote straight to ContextProxy, which fails open on a schema rejection, with no gate. That gate now exists there too, dropping an off-list mimoBaseUrl (with a warning) before either the proxy write or the profile save. The updateSettings comment now describes itself as one of two write paths instead of the only one.
Unbounded catalog (MEDIUM/LOW).getMimoModels consumed response.json() with no ceiling. It now caps the catalog at 1,000 entries and drops model IDs longer than 256 characters (dropped, not truncated, so a shortened ID cannot name a model the provider does not serve). Both limits are exported and tested at, just under, and over the boundary.
No code change: unknown-ID pricing fallback. Unknown IDs get MiMo-family defaults with no price fields, and known IDs keep their static spec untouched, so a remote /models entry can never set a cost. A comment in getMimoModels now records that choice so it is not mistaken for an oversight.
Scope of this round: src/api/providers/mimo.ts, src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts, src/core/webview/webviewMessageHandler.ts, src/extension/api.ts, plus their specs and one new spec. No behavior change for any other provider.
Xiaomi released the MiMo-V2.6 series (mimo-v2.6-pro, mimo-v2.6-flash,
mimo-v2.6-pro-ultraspeed) on 2026-09-22, and mimo-v2.5-pro / mimo-v2.5
stop working on 2026-10-21 10:00 (GMT+8). The dedicated MiMo provider
only offered a hardcoded catalog, so newer models were invisible unless
users reconfigured MiMo as an OpenAI-compatible provider.
Wire MiMo into the router-model pipeline so the picker populates from
the account's GET {baseUrl}/models response, mirroring DeepSeek/Moonshot:
- add mimo to dynamicProviders and dynamicProviderExtras
- getMimoModels fetcher merges the API response with static mimoModels
specs; unknown models get MiMo-family defaults with preserveReasoning
- requestRouterModels fetches MiMo when an API key exists, honoring
unsaved key/baseUrl form values (cluster URL selects the cache scope)
- settings ModelPicker and useSelectedModel merge the fetched catalog
with the static fallback, so post-V2.6 releases appear without an
extension update
Also update the static catalog: V2.6 entries with official pay-as-you-go
pricing (https://mimo.mi.com/docs/en-US/price/pay-as-you-go), the v2.5
entries synced to the same page (flat pricing, 256K long-context
multiplier removed), and the default model moved off the EOL'd
mimo-v2.5-pro.
Context windows (1M) and max output (128K) follow the published
V2.5-line specs; the pricing page publishes no V2.6 spec table.
Added Xiaomi MiMo as a model provider, including MiMo V2.6 Pro, Flash, and Pro Ultraspeed models, plus models available through your account.
Added Refresh Models in MiMo settings, with loading, success, and error feedback.
Updates
MiMo V2.6 Pro is now the default model. The previous V2.5 models are no longer listed in the built-in catalog.
MiMo API keys are stored securely, and supported endpoint settings are validated before use.
Model selection now retains configured MiMo models while account models are loading.
This PR adds dynamic MiMo model discovery and updates the static catalog to V2.6. It validates MiMo endpoints, migrates API keys to secret storage, integrates model refresh and selection with router responses, and correlates router requests by unique IDs.
Changes: MiMo dynamic model support
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Model catalog and provider contracts packages/types/src/providers/mimo.ts, packages/types/src/provider-settings.ts, packages/types/src/global-settings.ts, src/shared/api.ts, src/api/providers/mimo.ts, related tests
Adds three V2.6 models and sets mimo-v2.6-pro as the default. Adds MiMo to dynamic-provider options and adds prototype-safe metadata lookup.
API-key storage and migration packages/types/src/global-settings.ts, src/core/config/ContextProxy.ts, src/core/config/__tests__/ContextProxy.spec.ts, related type tests
Classifies mimoApiKey as secret. Initialization migrates a plaintext key into SecretStorage when no secret exists, preserves an existing secret, then clears plaintext state. Reset clears plaintext state.
Endpoint configuration src/extension/api.ts, src/core/webview/webviewMessageHandler.ts, related configuration tests
Validates MiMo base URLs against the four allowed endpoints. Configuration writes normalize or omit invalid values; webview settings updates reject off-list values and router cache flushing skips an off-list saved URL.
Model discovery and cache integration src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts, src/api/providers/mimo.ts, src/api/providers/fetchers/modelCache.ts, related tests
Adds MiMo model discovery with endpoint, credential, redirect, response-size, and model-ID checks. Catalog caching uses URL and API key; digest memoization is bounded to 16 entries.
Router aggregation and responses src/core/webview/webviewMessageHandler.ts, src/core/webview/__tests__/*
Adds MiMo to aggregate and filtered model requests. Resolves unsaved and stored credentials, checks the selected endpoint, and returns MiMo results or failure responses. Router responses can include request IDs.
UI model selection and refresh webview-ui/src/components/settings/providers/Mimo.tsx, webview-ui/src/components/settings/ApiOptions.tsx, webview-ui/src/components/ui/hooks/useSelectedModel.ts, webview-ui/src/i18n/locales/*/settings.json, related tests and story
Adds MiMo model refresh controls and status messages. The picker merges router models with the static catalog, and selection uses static model metadata while router data is unavailable.
Assigns each model request a unique ID and resolves responses by that ID. Cleanup removes the listener and clears the timeout on completion, abort, or timeout.
Resolve the configuration persistence issues before merging: accepted URL variants can fail saving, and rejected URLs can remove a profile's chosen cluster. Discovery also retains bounded follow-up concerns around endpoint defaults and catalog limits.

The Get in Touch section is missing, and the Writing Style and Test Helpers checklist items are not included, but these omissions are non-critical.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
The changes satisfy the coding requirements in #1761. mimo is in dynamicProviders, and getMimoModels fetches the account /models catalog. The fetcher merges static metadata and applies MiMo defaults to unknown IDs. The static catalog defines the three V2.6 models with a 1,048,576-token context and 131,072-token output limit. mimoDefaultModelId is mimo-v2.6-pro. useSelectedModel uses static MiMo metadata while router data is unavailable, so the task header can use the real context window. The PR summary reports green CI and automated tests.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes remain connected to #1761. Endpoint validation, redirect rejection, credential handling, cache scoping, secret migration, catalog limits, prototype-safe lookups, persistence guards, request correlation, refresh UI, translations, and regression tests support dynamic MiMo discovery and safe model selection. The LiteLLM comment update also documents the related retired MiMo model routes. No demonstrated change is unrelated to the linked issue.
Full details: Security Boundaries
Explanation
The prior finding remains unresolved. In changed code, src/core/webview/webviewMessageHandler.ts:140-141 defines isOffListMimoBaseUrl(mimoBaseUrl: string | undefined) and unconditionally calls stripTrailingSlashes. requestRouterModels calls it at line 1398, and flushRouterModels calls it at line 1166 with raw stored configuration. ContextProxy.getProviderSettings() returns raw values after schema failure (src/core/config/ContextProxy.ts:500-510), so a stored number or object causes a type exception before the failure-response or skip path. The changed direct boundaries have the same issue: MimoHandler calls stripTrailingSlashes at src/api/providers/mimo.ts:47-48, and getMimoModels does so at src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts:88, before validation. These paths still trust runtime-unvalidated mimoBaseUrl at the allowlist boundary.
Resolution
Make isOffListMimoBaseUrl accept unknown; return false only for undefined or "", return true for every other non-string, and call stripTrailingSlashes only for strings. Add the same runtime guard in MimoHandler and getMimoModels, with constant validation errors. Preserve the requestRouterModels failure response and flushRouterModels skip for invalid stored values. Add regression tests for non-string stored values through both router paths and for direct handler/fetcher boundaries.
Full details: Persistence Integrity
Explanation
The changed default is not propagated to persisted MiMo profiles. packages/types/src/providers/mimo.ts:32 changes mimoDefaultModelId to mimo-v2.6-pro, but src/core/config/ProviderSettingsManager.ts:30 still defines MODEL_MIGRATIONS as empty. Initialization calls applyModelMigrations at lines 129-132 and stores only if it reports changes at lines 217-219, so a saved apiModelId: "mimo-v2.5-pro" remains unchanged. MimoHandler.getModel() uses that persisted ID at src/api/providers/mimo.ts:94-107, and createMessage() sends it at lines 127-143. After the V2.5 retirement, a user with the previously persisted default can continue sending requests with the retired model ID.
Resolution
Add MiMo entries to MODEL_MIGRATIONS, mapping mimo-v2.5-pro and the retired mimo-v2.5 to mimo-v2.6-pro. Let initialization persist the migrated profiles before they are consumed. Add a regression test that loads a saved MiMo profile, verifies the stored model ID is migrated, and verifies the active handler uses mimo-v2.6-pro.
Full details: Regression Evidence
Explanation
The regression finding remains unresolved. useSelectedModel now supplies MiMo static metadata before router data arrives, and TaskHeader renders that metadata through ContextWindowProgress; this changes the visible context-window value from the fallback 1 to the MiMo context window. ApiOptions now merges static MiMo models with router-only models passed to ModelPicker, which changes visible model choices. The PR adds only Mimo.visual.tsx and its two screenshots, covering the Refresh Models controls. No Playwright component fixture or committed snapshot covers the TaskHeader fallback or the ApiOptions/ModelPicker catalog states. Unit tests do not provide the required durable UI snapshot evidence.
Resolution
Add deterministic Playwright component fixtures and committed screenshots for the MiMo static-catalog fallback in TaskHeader and the MiMo settings picker showing both a static model and a router-only model. Keep the existing MiMo Refresh Models snapshots.
Full details: Lifecycle Resource Cleanup
Explanation
The changed router-model request still duplicates host work after cancellation. fetchRouterModels now aborts only its webview listener and timer (webview-ui/src/components/ui/hooks/useRouterModels.ts:26-79). The host still receives each request independently through ClineProvider (src/core/webview/ClineProvider.ts:1754-1761), and requestRouterModels starts Promise.allSettled fetches and posts responses without a cancellation registry (src/core/webview/webviewMessageHandler.ts:1214-1225, 1527-1581). Although GetModelsOptions.signal and fetcher signal plumbing were added, safeGetModels calls getModels(options, handler) without a signal, and no cancellation message exists. If a component unmounts and remounts, the first host aggregation and provider fetches continue while the replacement aggregation starts. Request IDs prevent stale UI resolution but do not stop the duplicate work.
Resolution
Add a cancellation message keyed by requestId. Keep an AbortController for each active requestRouterModels request in the extension host. Abort and remove the controller when cancellation arrives, and remove it in a finally block on completion. Pass the signal through every candidate, including auth-scoped providers, through getModels/refreshModels to fetchModels. Suppress aggregate and per-provider responses after cancellation. Add a regression test that aborts a request, verifies provider-fetch cancellation, and confirms a replacement request does not retain the canceled work.

- require https: at the fetch boundary so the bearer key is never sent
over plaintext HTTP (settings schema allows only https endpoints, but
unsaved webview values reach this fetcher too)
- skip null/non-object entries in the /models payload so one malformed
element cannot abort the whole catalog
- exclude ASR/TTS model families from discovery — they are not text chat
models and require modality payloads this provider never builds
- scope the MiMo model cache by API key so catalogs never leak across
credentials on the same cluster URL
- catch MiMo refresh failures in requestRouterModels and post the normal
failure response instead of exiting before any response is sent
…ding credentials
CodeRabbit pre-merge ERROR (PR Zoo-Code-Org#1748): unsaved webview mimoBaseUrl bypassed the persisted 4-URL Xiaomi allowlist and the fetcher only checked the https scheme, so a crafted requestRouterModels message could exfiltrate the saved API key to an arbitrary HTTPS origin. Enforce the allowlist (mirrored from the zod schema, drift-pinned by a sync test) and reject userinfo-bearing URLs inside getMimoModels as the network boundary, before any request or Authorization header is constructed. Regression tests: attacker origin (fetch not called), userinfo/authority confusion on allowed and attacker hosts, all 4 allowed URLs still fetch, schema-drift sync.
…edModel
CodeRabbit Regression Evidence sub-claim 3b (verified): the two existing MiMo rows key on mimoDefaultModelId/null-catalog, so a regression of the merged catalog {...mimoModels, ...routerModels.mimo} to static-only would still pass both. This test selects a router-returned ID absent from the static catalog and asserts the selected model carries router metadata — the only guard for the merged-catalog wiring. Includes a premise assertion so the test fails loudly if the ID is ever added to the static catalog.
…iMo catalog
CodeRabbit Regression Evidence sub-claim 2 (verified): ApiOptions.tsx spreads routerModels.mimo into the picker catalog but every ApiOptions suite null-mocked ModelPicker, leaving that spread as the only untested wiring path for fetched MiMo models. Adds 3 tests in the sole suite that renders the real ModelPicker: merged static+router-only delivery, undefined router fallback, and empty-payload fallback. Mutation-verified: reverting the merge to static-only fails the router-only assertion. Also hoists the useRouterModels mock state holder and resets the organization allow-list leak from earlier suites.

Upstream Zoo-Code-Org#1906 replaced modelCache's per-provider dispatch switch and the
URL/KEY/AUTH scope sets with handler.fetchModels() + getModelCacheScope().
Re-ported the MiMo dynamic-catalog integration onto that interface.
Conflict resolutions:
- modelCache.ts: took upstream's handler.fetchModels() dispatch and dropped
the branch's switch plus the three scope sets (now owned by handlers);
kept the branch's bounded-FIFO digest memo.
- modelCache.spec.ts: kept upstream's handler-double harness and re-ported
the MiMo dispatch + url/key cache-isolation coverage onto it; re-pointed
the digest-memo tests at a requesty handler double.
- useRouterModels.ts: kept upstream's abort wiring and the branch's
request-ID correlation (host echoes requestId; responses match on it).
- useRouterModels.spec.ts: took the branch's superset spec (request-ID
correlation, concurrent same-provider requests) plus upstream's afterEach.
- useSelectedModel.ts: kept upstream's getStaticCatalogModel (Zoo-Code-Org#1848) and the
branch's getStaticCatalogSelection side by side; the not-ready fallback is
still needed because Zoo-Code-Org#1848 only wires the ready path.
Follow-up fixes required by the new interface:
- MimoHandler: implement getModelCacheScope() ({urlScoped, keyScoped}) and
fetchModels(), mirroring DeepSeekHandler.
- webviewMessageHandler: pass a handler to flushModels() for the MiMo
refresh path (signature is now (options, handler, refresh)).
- IOIntelligence.spec.tsx: add the now-required `mimo` key to its
RouterModels fixture.
What:
requestRouterModels now rejects an off-list MiMo base URL whether it came
from the unsaved form values or from stored settings.
Why:
The merge re-ported flushModels() onto the (options, handler, refresh)
signature, so the MiMo refresh path builds its handler eagerly at the call
site. MimoHandler's constructor throws on a base URL outside the four
allowed Xiaomi endpoints, and that throw escaped the whole
requestRouterModels case: the webview received neither the MiMo failure
response nor the aggregate routerModels response, so the Refresh Models
button hung until its 10s timeout. A stored off-list value is reachable
because ContextProxy.getProviderSettings() fails open on a schema
rejection, so a value written by a pre-allowlist build survives.
Impact:
MiMo refresh with an off-list stored endpoint now posts the documented
MIMO/requestRouterModels/001 failure response and still posts the
aggregate response. Adds a regression spec that fails on the pre-fix
guard.
@edelauna re-review request: your five CHANGES_REQUESTED threads are all answered on the current head, and this push adds one fix that the merge re-port required.
Post-merge state. The merge of upstream 0952a8999 re-ported the MiMo catalog integration onto the new handler.fetchModels() / handler.getModelCacheScope() interface. That replaced the old KEY_SCOPED_PROVIDERS / URL_SCOPED_PROVIDERS / AUTH_SCOPED_PROVIDERS sets and the per-provider dispatch switch, so I re-verified every earlier answer against the new code rather than assuming it still held. All 16 threads still hold; details below.
Your five threads, verified on this head:
"Does flushModels/refreshModels ever actually throw here?" — Your read was right and the unreachable catch is gone. refreshModels catch-alls internally (modelCache.ts:494-502), and the MiMo block now matches the DeepSeek/Moonshot sibling shape with a bare await flushModels(...) (webviewMessageHandler.ts:1383).
"could the comment explain why MiMo is the exception" — ApiOptions.tsx:760-770 now gives the concrete reason: MiMo has no dedicated picker, so it shares the generic static picker with DeepSeek, and Moonshot has its own router-only picker.
"worth adding a case for the %40-encoded form too?" — Added at src/api/providers/fetchers/__tests__/mimo.spec.ts:258; it asserts the allowlist rejection and that no request is dispatched, so both guards are pinned.
"could the test also assert that a model ID present in mimoModels but absent from the mocked API response does not appear" — Added at mimo.spec.ts:44 (expect(models["mimo-v2.5-pro"]).toBeUndefined()), plus the opposite direction at :33 for an API-only model.
"could this use toEqual(expectedInfo)" — Done at useSelectedModel.spec.ts:742, parametrized per provider, with the isError assertion retained at :815.
One new fix in this push (b9c05ebe0). The re-port changed flushModels(options, refresh) into flushModels(options, handler, refresh), so the MiMo refresh path now builds its handler eagerly at the call site. MimoHandler's constructor rejects a base URL outside the four allowed Xiaomi endpoints, and the guard only validated the unsaved form value. An off-list stored value is reachable because ContextProxy.getProviderSettings() fails open on a schema rejection, so a value written by a pre-allowlist build survives. The constructor throw then escaped the whole requestRouterModels case: the webview got neither the MiMo failure response nor the aggregate routerModels response, so the Refresh Models button hung until its 10s timeout.
The guard now validates the resolved value (unsavedMimoBaseUrl ?? apiConfiguration.mimoBaseUrl), so an off-list stored endpoint takes the existing rejection branch and posts MIMO/requestRouterModels/001 while aggregation continues. A regression spec at webviewMessageHandler.routerModels.spec.ts:996 fails on the pre-fix guard (expected 1 to be +0 — the flush was dispatched) and passes now.
Verification on this head:check-types clean, eslint --max-warnings=0 clean on both touched files with no suppression-count change, 314 targeted src tests and 175 targeted webview-ui tests green, and the full suite plus CI results are in the run.
One thing I deliberately left alone: the flushRouterModels case (webviewMessageHandler.ts:1143) also builds a handler eagerly, so the same throw shape exists there for an off-list stored MiMo URL. It is upstream's own path with no in-tree sender, and it is outside this PR's diff, so I did not change it — flagging it in case you would rather it be handled here.
…totype keys
What:
- Build every router-models handler from the resolved base URL
(`handlerConfiguration`) instead of the raw stored config.
- Enforce MimoHandler's real constructor contract in the routerModels spec's
buildApiHandler double and add a mixed-state regression case.
- Replace the one-directional schema/allowlist cross-check with a bidirectional
set-equality assertion over the zod union literals.
- Add `getMimoModelInfo()` (own-property check) in packages/types and use it in
the fetcher, MimoHandler.getModel(), and both useSelectedModel MiMo paths;
make getValidatedModelId own-property based.
- Correct the routerModels.spec comment that claimed a 10s refresh timeout.
- Add a Mimo.visual.tsx gallery snapshot for the new Refresh Models affordance.
Why:
- Mixed state (valid unsaved mimoBaseUrl + off-list stored value) passed the
allowlist guard, which runs on the resolved value, while handlerFor() spread
the raw stored config. MimoHandler's constructor then threw and the throw
escaped the whole requestRouterModels case, so neither the MiMo failure
response nor the aggregate routerModels response was posted and the Refresh
button stuck at Loading. The spec's non-throwing buildApiHandler double had
masked this.
- The schema cross-check only proved "every allowlisted URL parses", so adding a
fifth zod literal without an allowlist entry tripped no test.
- Model IDs arrive from the provider's /models response, so an ID such as
`constructor` resolved an inherited Object.prototype member and surfaced as a
model with no metadata instead of the MiMo-family defaults.
- The Refresh Models button is a user-visible affordance, so it needs a pixel
receipt; the PR body claimed "No UI changes".
Impact:
- Refresh no longer hangs in mixed state; the handler always validates the same
value the guard accepted.
- Schema/allowlist drift now fails in both directions.
- Prototype-key IDs fall back to family defaults at every layer.
- No behavior change for other providers (mimoBaseUrl is inert for them).
- Baselines for Mimo.visual.tsx must be generated by the container workflow;
host-rendered screenshots are not authoritative per webview-ui/AGENTS.md.
What: add the two MiMo settings snapshot baselines (unconfigured and
configured dark) generated by the pinned Playwright container, and add a
mixed-state regression case that drives `refresh: true` through the
filtered-flush site.
Why: the visual spec referenced two baselines that existed nowhere, so the
required `webview-visual` check failed on every run. The existing
mixed-state test only reached the fetch path, so a regression at the shared
refresh flush site would have passed unnoticed.
Impact: `webview-visual` has its baselines. Reverting the flush site to the
raw stored config now fails the new test with MIMO/MimoHandler/001, which
the pre-existing mixed-state test does not catch. No production code
changed.
…BaseUrl writer
What:
- MimoHandler now sets `fetchOptions = { redirect: "error" }` on the OpenAI
client it builds, matching the model fetcher's transport rule.
- `flushRouterModels` skips the MiMo dispatch when the stored mimoBaseUrl is
off-list instead of letting MimoHandler's constructor throw uncaught.
- `getMimoModels` caps the catalog at 1000 entries and drops model IDs longer
than 256 characters.
- `ZooCodeAPI.setConfiguration` drops an off-list mimoBaseUrl instead of
persisting it through ContextProxy.
- The `updateSettings` gate comment no longer claims to be the only write path.
Why:
A security quartet confirmed that the allowlist pinned the URL the client is
built with, not the URLs it can reach. The SDK's default fetch follows 3xx, so
an allowlisted Xiaomi origin answering with a redirect replayed the POST body
(system prompt, conversation, tool output) to an un-vetted origin, and
re-scoped the bearer key wherever the fetch implementation forwards it. The
same review found the flush path could throw out of the message handler, the
catalog had no size ceiling, and the public extension API was a second,
ungated write path into storage that the PR body claimed did not exist.
Impact:
- MiMo chat requests now reject a 3xx instead of following it. A MiMo endpoint
that legitimately redirects would surface an error rather than silently
working; no allowlisted endpoint does.
- A stored off-list mimoBaseUrl no longer breaks model flushing or escapes the
webview message handler.
- A hostile or broken /models response can no longer inflate the cached catalog
without bound.
- Extensions calling setConfiguration with an off-list mimoBaseUrl get the
value dropped with a warning instead of a poisoned store.
What: the ALLOWED_BASE_URLS comment now states that the allowlist and the
redirect:"error" policy together keep the bearer key on a Xiaomi origin, and
points at both places that pin the policy.
Why: the comment claimed the exact-match gate alone "guarantees the bearer key
never leaves a Xiaomi origin on any path". That was false while the inference
client followed 3xx, and it would go stale again if a future path added a
client without a redirect policy.
Impact: comment only, no behavior change.
Security-fix round landed at 274952d19. Dispositions for the three security items, since the review threads for this PR are already resolved and the quartet's findings arrived out-of-band:
F1 (HIGH, redirect policy on the inference client) — fixed.MimoHandler now sets fetchOptions = { redirect: "error" } on the OpenAI client it builds. The allowlist pinned the URL the client was built with, not the URLs it could reach; the SDK's default fetch follows 3xx, so an allowlisted origin answering a redirect replayed the POST body cross-origin. New spec api/providers/__tests__/mimo-redirect.spec.ts runs the real SDK against a transport double that honours the fetch redirect contract. Mutation-verified: with the fix reverted the request resolves with the attacker's body ([{ type: "text", text: "leaked" }]), so the test fails on old behavior.
F2 (MEDIUM, flushRouterModels constructor escape) — fixed. The flush case now applies the same stored-value gate as requestRouterModels via a shared isOffListMimoBaseUrl helper. Mutation-verified: removing the guard reproduces the exact MIMO/MimoHandler/001 escape out of webviewMessageHandler.
F3 (MEDIUM, assert-control on the persistence claim) — fixed, both parts.ZooCodeAPI.setConfiguration now drops an off-list mimoBaseUrl before the ContextProxy write and the profile save, so the public API is no longer an ungated second write path. The updateSettings comment no longer claims to be the only place an off-list value can enter storage, and the ALLOWED_BASE_URLS comment no longer claims the allowlist alone keeps the key on a Xiaomi origin.
Also fixed:getMimoModels now caps the catalog at 1,000 entries and drops model IDs over 256 characters (dropped, not truncated). No code change: unknown-ID pricing fallback, documented in-code — unknown IDs get no price fields and known IDs keep their static spec, so a remote /models entry cannot set a cost.
Verification: tsc clean, eslint --prune-suppressions clean with no suppression-count change (the file's line-ending churn was reverted), prettier clean. Targeted suites: api lane 171/171 (mimo.spec.ts, mimo-redirect.spec.ts, fetchers/mimo.spec.ts, modelCache.spec.ts), unit lane 215/215 (webviewMessageHandler.routerModels.spec.ts, webviewMessageHandler.spec.ts, api-configuration.spec.ts, ContextProxy.spec.ts). No production change outside the four MiMo-scoped files.
cc @edelauna — flagging that your CHANGES_REQUESTED from Sep 26 (mixed-case unsaved-valid + stored-invalid bypassing the dynamic-catalog guard) has been addressed, plus a security round on top:
What changed since your review
handlerConfiguration gate now checks the INPUT on mixed state (unsaved-valid + stored-invalid), not just the stored value — the bypass path you flagged closes at all 3 sites; regression test with an enforcing mock added (kill-one mutation proof).
Security round (4-seat): MiMo inference fetch pins redirect: 'error' via client.fetchOptions with a 3xx-refusal test; flushRouterModels shares the off-list-baseUrl guard; setConfiguration gained a 3-line invalid-input shield. CodeQL pbkdf2 alert dispositioned (pre-existing sink, no new taint path — details in review thread).
Webview visual baselines committed (refresh button + states were missing them); webview-visual CI is green. PR body corrected where it over-claimed.
Status: all CI legs green at head 274952d19 (e2e-mock, mutation-diff, platform tests both OS, webview-visual, extension-host-visual, CodeQL). Review threads 100% fixed-or-rebutted. The only open gate is your review state — could you take another look when convenient?
Ping for reviewer: all five asks from the change request are addressed at the current head (274952d19) with evidence: (1) unreachable try/catch removed - block now matches the DeepSeek/Moonshot sibling pattern (webviewMessageHandler.ts:1390-1398); (2) merge-rationale comment names the exception at ApiOptions.tsx:1350-1356; (3) %40-encoded userinfo rejection pinned in mimo.spec.ts (~:285, allowlist reject, no request dispatched); (4) fallback assertions rewritten to parametrized exact toEqual(expectedInfo) per provider in useSelectedModel.spec.ts; (5) raw-stored-vs-resolved base-URL gap closed by the isOffListMimoBaseUrl gate posting the failure response before any fetch (webviewMessageHandler.ts:1400-1433). CI green, no open code questions from our side - re-review when convenient, thanks!

Use the fetched catalog entry when resolving API-only MiMo model IDs.
For a discovered ID that is not in the static table, MimoHandler.getModel() returns the V2.6 Pro defaults: 1,048,576 context and V2.6 Pro prices. The model picker shows the fetched entry: 262,144 context and no pricing. Context management and cost reporting use the V2.6 Pro values. Resolve the runtime info from the fetched entry, or align the picker with the runtime values.

Ignore stale router responses in the shared listener.
The routerModels case merges every response by provider and ignores requestId. A late response from an earlier request can overwrite the newer catalog. Readers such as Poe.tsx use this shared state. Track the latest request per provider and skip older responses. This predates the PR.

Update the shared `routerModels` response handler to track the latest request ID
per provider and ignore responses from superseded requests before merging them
into shared state; preserve valid responses for the current request.
Add a test for retention at exactly 16 memo entries.
The FIFO test overflows the memo with 12 keys. It does not detect an eviction threshold one entry lower, such as >= MAX_CACHED_DIGESTS. Eight keys fill the memo exactly. Re-requesting the first key must not run PBKDF2 again.
🧪 Suggested test
await getModels({ provider: memoProvider, apiKey: "memo-flood-11" }, handler)
expect(mockPbkdf2Sync.mock.calls.length).toBe(beforeRecent)

As per path instructions, "Require regression coverage at the lowest valid harness with behavior-focused assertions, including relevant negative, error, false/unset, and boundary cases." The current test lacks that exact boundary case.

Restore listener and timer assertions on the success and timeout tests.
The success and timeout tests in useRouterModels.spec.ts no longer check that the window message listener is removed or that the timer is cleared. The base spec checked both. If cleanup() were removed from the success or timeout path, these tests would still pass. The abort test is the only one that still checks removal. Add removeSpy and getTimerCount() assertions to the success and timeout tests, as the base spec did.

Add a direct test for MimoHandler.getModelCacheScope().
The MiMo cache-isolation tests in modelCache.spec.ts build their handler with a local MIMO_SCOPE fixture. They never call the getModelCacheScope() override in src/api/providers/mimo.ts. The cache-key path reads the flags from the handler's return value, so a change to urlScoped or keyScoped in that override would leave these tests passing.
Add a test that constructs MimoHandler and asserts that getModelCacheScope() returns { urlScoped: true, keyScoped: true, authScoped: false }. The Requesty and LiteLLM specs already assert their real scope values this way.

Both visual tests capture only the idle render. The spinner and the loading status line appear only after Refresh Models is clicked. A CSS change to those elements leaves both screenshots unchanged, so both tests still pass. The idle snapshots already meet the one-snapshot-per-screen rule. This test covers the loading layout that the story comment says needs a pixel receipt.
The gallery acquireVsCodeApi mock only records posted messages and does not reply. A click on the configured story therefore keeps the component in the loading state. Add a test that clicks the button, checks the disabled button and spinner, and captures the screenshot:
The animations: "disabled" option freezes the spinner's rotation before capture. Commit the new baseline with the test.

What: resetAllState now also clears the plaintext globalState copy of
mimoApiKey, and the reset spec asserts the extra update call plus a new
regression covering reset-then-initialize.
Why: mimoApiKey became a SECRET_STATE_KEY, so it is filtered out of
GLOBAL_STATE_KEYS. The reset sweep therefore never touched a plaintext
copy left by a pre-migration build, and the initialize() that reset runs
immediately afterwards found it and migrated it into SecretStorage. Reset
resurrected the credential it is supposed to clear.
Impact: "Reset state" no longer re-stores a plaintext MiMo API key. The
crash-safe retry guarantee in migratePlaintextMimoApiKey is untouched: the
plaintext is still only cleared after the migration's checks and store
resolve, so a failed migration still retries on next launch.
What: the loading/success/error status divs in the MiMo provider settings
panel now render inside a single wrapper with role="status" and
aria-live="polite", and Mimo.spec.tsx pins that the wrapper stays mounted
while its content changes. The spec's hand-wrapped QueryClientProvider also
moves to renderWithExtensionState, which the webview lint rule requires.
Why: each status div used to mount and unmount as the region itself. A live
region only announces content that changes inside an element already
present in the accessibility tree, so screen-reader users got no
announcement for the refresh outcome.
Impact: refresh progress and results are announced to assistive tech. DOM
structure gains one wrapper div; the existing text queries are unchanged.
… empty
What: the MiMo case of getSelectedModel now skips ID validation when the
router catalog settled but listed no models, keeping the saved apiModelId
with info undefined. The existing invalid-ID spec row is retargeted to a
populated catalog that omits the ID, which is the case that still falls
back to the default.
Why: a settled-but-empty catalog reaches the ready path, where the ID was
validated against the merged catalog. A router-only ID is absent from the
static catalog, so it reset to the default, and that default leaked into
ApiOptions' apiModelId sync effect and could be baked into saved settings
on Save. The unsettled path already preserves the ID; this closes the
settled-empty gap.
Impact: a saved router-only MiMo model survives a refresh that returns no
models. The preserve branch is prototype-guarded with Object.hasOwn, so
IDs naming Object.prototype members still resolve to the static default,
and an empty-string apiModelId still resolves to the default via the
existing `||` convention.
What: setConfiguration now reads the stored mimoBaseUrl through the
provider accessor and clears it via contextProxy.updateGlobalState when it
is non-empty and outside the allowlist after stripTrailingSlashes. The
three existing spec doubles gain the accessor and updateGlobalState, and
three cases cover purge, valid-cluster preservation, and the no-op path.
Why: dropping the incoming value only sanitizes what the caller passes. A
partial update omits mimoBaseUrl, so an off-list value already in storage
(written by an older build or another extension) survived the call and
kept steering requests to that endpoint.
Impact: an off-list stored endpoint is removed instead of persisting
indefinitely. A stored allowlisted endpoint is untouched, so a rejected
input cannot take a valid cluster down with it, and an empty stored value
still means "unset".
…-path comment
What: isStoredMimoBaseUrlOffList now reads the stored value as `unknown` and
treats any non-string as off-list (purge) instead of passing it to
stripTrailingSlashes, which threw TypeError on `.endsWith` and rejected the
whole setConfiguration write. Adds two spec rows: a stored allowlisted URL
carrying a trailing slash survives a partial update, and non-string stored
values (42, an object, true) resolve to a purge rather than a rejection. The
setConfiguration leading comment no longer claims this is the only write path.
Why: the helper exists precisely because storage can hold values no schema
ever saw, so a corrupted value must not be a new failure mode of the fix. The
trailing-slash row pins the stripTrailingSlashes guard: only the slash-less
literal is on the allowlist, so dropping the strip would purge every such
cluster and silently drop the user to the default SGP endpoint. The comment
was stale after review confirmed ClineProvider.createTask persists a
caller-supplied configuration through setValues with no allowlist, which makes
the consumers' fail-closed checks load-bearing rather than redundant.
Impact: a corrupted mimoBaseUrl in storage is cleared on the next
setConfiguration instead of breaking it; behavior for valid, off-list, empty
and unset stored values is unchanged. No production behavior change from the
two spec rows or the comment.

…serve branch
What: two rows in the settled-empty group. A static-catalog ID
(mimo-v2.6-flash) under `{mimo:{}}` keeps its ID and its curated spec, and an
empty-string apiModelId under the same settled catalog resolves to the
default. The existing empty-string fixture runs the unsettled path, so it
never reached this branch.
Why: both clauses were behavior-load-bearing and mutation-undetected. Dropping
`!Object.hasOwn(mimoModels, configuredId)` makes the branch return
`{ id, info: undefined }` for a model that has a curated spec, which blanks
capability UI such as the context-window display; the ID assertion alone
cannot see that, so the metadata assertion is what pins it. Dropping
`configuredId &&` preserves "" as a phantom selection.
Verified by mutation: each clause removal fails exactly one test, and in both
cases it is the row added here (184 passed / 1 failed with the other clause
intact).
Impact: test-only. No production behavior change.
Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ocale
What: adds `settings.providers.refreshModels.missingConfig` to all 18 locale
settings.json files, placed after `error` inside the existing refreshModels
block and carrying the en-US string as the placeholder value.
Why: four providers (MiMo, Moonshot, LiteLLM, Poe) render
t("settings:providers.refreshModels.missingConfig") when the refresh button is
clicked without an API key, but the key existed in no locale. i18next fell back
to printing the raw key, so users saw the dotted path instead of a sentence.
`node scripts/find-missing-i18n-key.js` reported the key as missing for each of
the four call sites; `node scripts/find-missing-translations.js` now passes for
all locales.
Impact: UI copy only. Non-English locales show the English sentence until
translations land, which is the same fallback shape the repo already uses for
untranslated keys.
Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>
What: `withoutOffListMimoBaseUrl` reads `values.mimoBaseUrl` as `unknown` and
only consults the allowlist when it is a string, so a number, object or
boolean is dropped from the write exactly like an off-list string. Three spec
cases pin the behavior (42 / object / true).
Why: this is the incoming-side twin of the stored-side guard in c189c0e.
`setConfiguration` is a public entry point for other extensions and
automation, so the declared `string | undefined` type is not enforced at
runtime. `stripTrailingSlashes` calls `.endsWith`, so a non-string threw
`TypeError: result.endsWith is not a function` out of the sanitizer and
rejected the whole `setConfiguration` call, losing every other setting the
caller sent. Red on HEAD: 3 failed / 18 passed with that exact stack
(`fetchers/mimo.ts:64` <- `withoutOffListMimoBaseUrl` <- `setConfiguration`).
After: 21/21 passed.
Impact: a mistyped or hostile caller can no longer abort a configuration
write with a bad mimoBaseUrl; the value is rejected and the rest of the
configuration persists. String behavior is unchanged, including the empty
string and trailing-slash cases. Verified: check-types exit 0, eslint exit 0
on both files without `--prune-suppressions`, `src/eslint-suppressions.json`
unchanged.

Six CodeRabbit threads at the previous head were run through the full analysis path (classification -> 3-model panel -> implementation -> independent review pair + code review). What landed:
Empty-catalog overwrite (Major): a settled-empty MiMo router catalog no longer downgrades a saved router-only model ID to the static default. Gate sits hook-side, prototype-guarded: prototype-key IDs still reset to the default and empty-string IDs still resolve to the default (both existing contracts pinned by new tests, each mutation-discriminating). Note: one branch-only test that pinned the old {mimo:{}} -> default behavior was retargeted (same intent: invalid selection falls back) because the corrected behavior makes the old assertion unsatisfiable - deliberate, not silent.
Plaintext mimoApiKey resurrection (Minor/Security): resetAllState now also clears the legacy plaintext global-state entry, closing the reset->migrate re-sealing loop. Deliberately a stop-only purge: the migration already scrubs on its own run and its crash-safety retry (store-before-clear) must stay intact.
Off-list stored mimoBaseUrl (Minor/Data-integrity): setConfiguration now purges a stored off-list base URL (valid stored clusters survive partial updates) and tolerates corrupted non-string stored/incoming values by treating them as off-list instead of throwing.
A11y (Minor): the three refresh-status blocks now render inside one persistent role="status" aria-live="polite" region (this UI was introduced by this PR, so the finding applies to its own code).
Hygiene: refreshModels.missingConfig i18n key added across all locales (non-English strings are the en value pending a translator pass), and a stale "one write path" comment corrected.
Visual baselines (two-step, deliberate): the persistent live-region adds ~13px to the MiMo block, so the two committed webview-visual baselines are stale by design in this push. Docker is not available on the author host and host-rendered PNGs are not a sanctioned commit source; per the repo-documented CI route, the first failing webview-visual run uploads the container-rendered PNGs, which will be committed in a follow-up commit on this branch after inspection.
Honest disclosures: (1) startNewTask -> createTask -> setValues remains a persist path without the mimoBaseUrl allowlist (pre-existing shape; every network consumer fails closed, verified by the security pair). (2) One thread (deprecated V2.5 entries: remove vs soft-hide) is held for an owner product decision, not silently patched.
…er render
What: replace the two mimo-settings-*-dark.png baselines with the
Linux-container-rendered actuals from run 41238511101 (block height
448x224->448x236 unconfigured, 448x196->448x208 configured).
Why: the persistent role=status live region added by 079a7c3 grows the
MiMo block by ~12px; baselines must come from the pinned CI container,
not host rendering (repo policy).
Impact: webview-visual check passes at this head; no source change.
Round-3 re-merge onto main@33b56507188f. Conflict set (2 paths):
- packages/types/src/provider-settings/mimo.ts (modify/delete): main's
Zoo-Code-Org#2233 moved every provider definition into packages/types/src/providers/.
The deletion wins; this branch's added comment on the mimoBaseUrl union
moved with the definition into providers/mimo.ts.
- webview-ui/src/components/ui/hooks/useSelectedModel.ts (content): kept
this branch's static-catalog fallback branch and applied main's new
two-argument getProviderDefaultModelId signature to the final fallback.
Also retargeted two comments that named the deleted path
(src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts and its spec).
Re-merged origin/main (33b56507188f) into fix/mimo-dynamic-model-list. No rebase, no force-push; all 9 P8 fix commits plus baselines preserved.

modify/delete
Main's deletion wins; the branch's added comment moved to the definition's new home
Auto-merged cleanly, both intents verified present: packages/types/src/providers/mimo.ts, packages/types/src/provider-settings.ts.
What drove the conflicts
main advanced 7 commits. The driver is #2233 ("Move default provider ID functionality into provider definition"), which relocated every provider definition from packages/types/src/provider-settings/*.ts into packages/types/src/providers/*.ts, deleted the old directory, and changed getProviderDefaultModelId from a 1-argument to a 2-argument signature.
For the record, #1734 is a read-file/EOF propagation fix (ReadFileTool + indentation-reader) and does not touch this PR's surfaces.
Resolution mapping
1. provider-settings/mimo.ts (modify/delete) — The relocation is structural and correct, so the deletion wins. The branch's only content change to that file was a comment documenting that the four mimoBaseUrl literals must stay in sync with ALLOWED_BASE_URLS in src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts. That comment was carried forward onto mimoProviderDefinition in packages/types/src/providers/mimo.ts, so the documented invariant is not lost.
2. useSelectedModel.ts (content) — One conflict region at the tail of the ternary chain: the branch added the isStaticCatalogDynamicProvider / getStaticCatalogSelection fallback, while main changed the final fallback to the 2-arg helper. Kept the branch's static-catalog branch and applied main's signature to the surviving else:
The two changes are orthogonal and compose without weakening either. Main's other hunks in this file applied cleanly and were verified present: zaiApiLineConfigs import removed, kimiCode call site updated, and both const defaultModelId = getProviderDefaultModelId(provider, apiConfiguration) sites. The entire MiMo getSelectedModel case — settled-empty preserve branch, getValidatedModelId, prototype-safe Object.hasOwn reads, getMimoModelInfo fallback — survived intact.
Follow-on: two comments still named the deleted path and were retargeted to packages/types/src/providers/mimo.ts (src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts and its spec). A repo-wide sweep found no other source references.
Type checks pass on all three targets: src, webview-ui, packages/types.
ESLint --max-warnings=0 on all 5 touched files, exit 0. src/eslint-suppressions.json byte-identical before and after; the merge only shrank it (net -65) and added nothing for any file this PR touches.
1,118 tests passed, 0 failed across 24 co-touched spec files.
P8 regression rows re-run by name, all green: the three settled-empty rows (router-only preserve, curated-spec retention, empty-configured-ID) and the retargeted f719fbf88 invalid-model-ID fallback row.
Pixel relevance: none. No MiMo-render-relevant source changed — Mimo.tsx, ApiOptions.tsx, the gallery stories, Mimo.visual.tsx, and __screenshots__/ are all untouched by the merge, and every symbol Mimo.tsx imports from @roo-code/types still resolves after the relocation. The committed PNG baselines stand; no regeneration was performed.
CI is re-running on the new head.
Review threads
The 5 previously resolved threads stay resolved; the merge did not reopen any. Thread _92 on packages/types/src/providers/mimo.ts (mark the retired V2.5 catalog entries as deprecated: true) remains open pending the owner's decision.

Saved retired MiMo V2.5 IDs still reach inference after EOL.
After 2026-10-21 10:00 (GMT+8), Xiaomi stops serving mimo-v2.5-pro and mimo-v2.5. This PR keeps both entries in mimoModels. A saved V2.5 ID therefore passes validation in the populated catalog path of getSelectedModel, and MimoHandler.getModel() sends it unchanged. Saved configurations are not migrated, so their requests fail after EOL. This predates the PR: the base code also sent any saved ID unchanged.
Removing the V2.5 entries alone does not close this path. The settled-empty branch and getStaticCatalogSelection both keep a configured ID that is absent from the static catalog. A retirement rule has to cover all three selection states: populated, settled-empty, and unavailable. How existing saved IDs are handled (for example, migrating them to mimo-v2.6-pro or blocking them) is a product decision.

Unset MiMo cluster sends discovery requests to the Singapore endpoint.
When mimoBaseUrl is unset, the new model-discovery request falls back to MIMO_DEFAULT_BASE_URL, the Singapore Token Plan endpoint. Pay-as-you-go keys (sk-) are documented as not valid on Token Plan endpoints, so discovery can return an HTTP error for those users. The inference path already applies the same default to an unset cluster, so chat can fail for that input. The workaround is to select the pay-as-you-go endpoint in the MiMo base URL dropdown.

A large response from an allowlisted MiMo endpoint can therefore grow extension-host memory before the cap drops any entries. The 15-second fetch timeout limits elapsed time, not body size. Read the body through a byte-limited reader, reject bodies above a fixed size, and then parse the bounded text.

Update getMimoModels to read the response body through a byte-limited reader,
reject it if it exceeds a fixed size, and parse JSON only from the bounded text;
keep the existing 1,000-entry cap for parsed models.

Keep the target profile's allowlisted MiMo URL when an incoming URL is rejected.
When setConfiguration receives an off-list mimoBaseUrl for an apiProvider: "mimo" payload, withoutOffListMimoBaseUrl removes the key. saveConfig then replaces the whole profile (providerProfiles.apiConfigs[name] = { ...filteredConfig, id }), so the profile's stored allowlisted cluster is dropped. Reactivating the profile calls setProviderSettings, which clears the stored mimoBaseUrl. Requests then use the default Singapore cluster.
Before this change, the same payload made saveConfig throw, so the profile kept its cluster.
When the incoming URL is rejected and the payload is for mimo, read the target profile's stored mimoBaseUrl and carry it into the saveConfig payload only:
Check that the profile exists with listConfig() before calling getProfile. getProfile throws for a missing name.
Keep the stored value only when it is a string and ALLOWED_BASE_URLS.has(stripTrailingSlashes(value)) is true. Otherwise leave the payload unchanged.
Do not catch other lookup errors.
Do not pass the restored value to setValues. That call would overwrite the global endpoint.

In setConfiguration, when an incoming mimoBaseUrl is rejected for an apiProvider
of “mimo,” preserve the target profile’s existing allowed URL in the payload
passed to saveConfig. Check listConfig() before getProfile(), and reuse the
stored value only if it is a string whose trailing-slash-normalized form is in

Store the canonical MiMo base URL before persisting it.
setConfiguration stores a trailing-slash mimoBaseUrl unchanged. providerSettingsSchema accepts only the four slashless literals. On each getProviderSettings read, the stored value fails validation, emits schema telemetry, and returns the raw object. Strip the trailing slash before storing. An empty string fails the schema the same way, so decide its canonical form in the same change.

Update the setConfiguration handling for mimoBaseUrl to store its canonical
slashless form before persisting, rather than returning values unchanged. Handle
an empty string consistently with the schema’s accepted values so subsequent
getProviderSettings reads do not emit validation telemetry or return unvalidated
settings.

What: delete the mimo-v2.5-pro and mimo-v2.5 entries from the MiMo catalog
(packages/types/src/providers/mimo.ts) and rewrite the header comment that
promised they would stay "until the EOL date passes". Migrate the test pins
that used the retired IDs as their fixture model, and add saved-user coverage
for the runtime and webview fallback paths.
Why: the EOL date (2026-10-21 10:00 GMT+8) has passed and Xiaomi's model names
stopped working, so the header's own contract expired. Keeping the entries left
dead IDs selectable in the picker; a deprecated banner would only decorate a
selection whose name no longer resolves.
Impact: MimoModelId narrows to the three V2.6 entries. A saved configuration
that still names a retired ID is unaffected at the type level (apiModelId is
z.string().optional()) and keeps working: getModel() falls back to
mimoDefaultModelInfo for pricing and limits while sending the stored ID
unchanged, and the webview preserves the ID with undefined info until the
router catalog settles. Both paths are spec-pinned.

Description
Xiaomi released the MiMo-V2.6 series (
mimo-v2.6-pro,mimo-v2.6-flash,mimo-v2.6-pro-ultraspeed) on 2026-09-22, andmimo-v2.5-pro/mimo-v2.5stop working on 2026-10-21 10:00 (GMT+8) (deprecation notice). The dedicated MiMo provider only shipped a hardcoded 2-model catalog, so V2.6 models were invisible unless users reconfigured MiMo as an OpenAI-compatible provider. This PR wires MiMo into the existing router-model pipeline (the same mechanism DeepSeek/Moonshot use) so the model picker populates from the account's own
GET {baseUrl}/modelsresponse:packages/types: addmimotodynamicProviders; add V2.6 entries tomimoModelswith official pay-as-you-go pricing; sync the v2.5 entries to the same page (flat pricing — the old >256K 2× multiplier no longer appears there); default model moves off the EOL'dmimo-v2.5-protomimo-v2.6-pro.src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts(new):getMimoModelscalls the OpenAI-compatible/modelsendpoint, merging responses with staticmimoModelsspecs. Unknown models get MiMo-family defaults withpreserveReasoning: true(a correctness requirement — MiMo requiresreasoning_contentpass-back in multi-turn tool calling).modelCache: mimo is URL-scoped — the cluster URL (cn/sgp/ams/PAYG) selects the cache key.webviewMessageHandler: fetches MiMo when an API key exists, honoring unsaved key/baseUrl form values (flush-on-change, mirroring DeepSeek/Moonshot). UnsavedmimoBaseUrlvalues are validated against the same four-endpoint allowlist as the persisted schema before any request is built;getMimoModelsre-enforces the allowlist at the network boundary and rejects URL-embedded credentials.ModelPickeranduseSelectedModelmerge the fetched catalog with the static fallback, so post-V2.6 releases appear without an extension update. The picker itself is unchanged; the one new affordance is the MiMo settings Refresh Models button described below.useSelectedModelresolves deepseek/moonshot/mimo from the shipped static catalog while router models are unavailable (loading, missing provider entry in the filtered host response, or query failure). Previously the task header rendered a bogus context window of1(108.1k / 1) for MiMo until the router catalog arrived.webview-ui/src/components/settings/providers/Mimo.tsx). It postsrequestRouterModelswith the form's current key + entrypoint and renders four states: idle, loading (spinner plus "Refreshing models list...", button disabled), success ("Models list refreshed successfully!"), and error (the host's failure message, or a generic fallback when no key is set). The button is disabled while there is no API key. No other provider's settings screen changes.MimoHandler's constructor rejected the stored value, and that throw escaped the wholerequestRouterModelscase — leaving the Refresh button stuck at Loading with no response posted./modelsresponse, so an ID such asconstructorused to resolve an inheritedObject.prototypemember and surface as a model with no metadata instead of the MiMo-family defaults.Entrypoint schema unchanged (the 4 existing URLs still validate); thinking-mode behavior unchanged (
thinking.type: "enabled"remains the handler default per the Deep Thinking docs).Notes for reviewers
mimo-v2-flashexclusion note is preserved; the dynamic list will surface flash-family models again — V2.6-flash is a different generation, but if 400s resurface the fetcher is the single place to filter.Test Procedure

The MiMo model catalog and its pricing metadata live in code (
packages/types), and the settings picker reads from that catalog directly; no user-facing documentation page enumerates the hardcoded MiMo model list today.Additional Notes
Addresses CodeRabbit pre-merge checks: (1) Security Boundaries — unsaved
mimoBaseUrlis now validated against the four-endpoint Xiaomi allowlist both inwebviewMessageHandlerbefore constructing fetch options and insidegetMimoModelsat the network boundary, with credential-in-URL rejection; (2) Regression Evidence — focused tests added at the modelCache dispatch/cache-isolation, ApiOptions→ModelPicker, useSelectedModel, fetcher (no-Authorization-without-key), and webview-handler (filtered single-provider MiMo request) layers.Review-fix round (mixed-state handler, schema drift, prototype keys)
handlerFor()spreads the raw stored config, so the MiMo handler was built from the storedmimoBaseUrlwhile the allowlist guard validated the resolved one. With a valid unsaved entrypoint and an off-list stored value, the guard passed, the constructor threw, and the throw escapedrequestRouterModels— no failure response, no aggregate response, Refresh stuck at Loading. Every handler built in that case now takes the resolved value (handlerConfiguration). The spec'sbuildApiHandlerdouble now enforcesMimoHandler's real constructor contract (sameALLOWED_BASE_URLScheck) instead of being non-throwing, which is what had masked this.ALLOWED_BASE_URLS.mimoModels[id]and the webview's catalog reads resolved inheritedObject.prototypemembers, so an ID likeconstructorproduced a model with empty metadata instead of MiMo-family defaults. AddedgetMimoModelInfo()(own-property check) inpackages/typesand used it in the fetcher,MimoHandler.getModel(), and bothuseSelectedModelMiMo paths;getValidatedModelIdnow uses an own-property check too.routerModels.spec.tsregression comment claimed the button "hung until its 10s timeout"; the 10s timeout lives infetchRouterModels, which the Refresh button does not use. Corrected to "stuck at Loading indefinitely".Security round (redirect policy, flush guard, catalog caps, API write path)
A four-seat security review of this PR found one HIGH and two MEDIUM items. All are fixed at the current head; the two claims they falsified are corrected here.
MimoHandlerbuilds its OpenAI client with, not the URLs that client can reach. The/modelsfetcher already pinnedredirect: "error"; the chat path did not.MimoHandlernow setsfetchOptions = { redirect: "error" }on its client, so both paths carry the key under one transport rule. Set on the client rather than by replacingfetch, so proxy agents still apply. Regression test (api/providers/__tests__/mimo-redirect.spec.ts) runs the real SDK against a transport double that honours the fetch redirect contract: with the fix the 307 rejects, and with the fix reverted the request resolves with the attacker's response body, so the test fails on the old behavior rather than merely missing an assertion.ALLOWED_BASE_URLScomment) was false as written for the reason above. The comment now states that the allowlist plus the redirect policy are what keep the key on a Xiaomi origin, and names both places that pin the policy.flushRouterModelshad no off-list guard (MEDIUM).flushRouterModelsbuilds its handler eagerly from stored config and has no surrounding catch, so an off-list storedmimoBaseUrlmadeMimoHandler's constructor throw and escapewebviewMessageHandlerentirely, breaking the flush and raising an unhandled rejection. It now applies the same stored-value gate asrequestRouterModels(sharedisOffListMimoBaseUrlhelper) and skips the MiMo dispatch. Mutation-verified: removing the guard makes the new test fail with the exactMIMO/MimoHandler/001escape.ZooCodeAPI.setConfiguration(src/extension/api.ts) wrote straight toContextProxy, which fails open on a schema rejection, with no gate. That gate now exists there too, dropping an off-listmimoBaseUrl(with a warning) before either the proxy write or the profile save. TheupdateSettingscomment now describes itself as one of two write paths instead of the only one.getMimoModelsconsumedresponse.json()with no ceiling. It now caps the catalog at 1,000 entries and drops model IDs longer than 256 characters (dropped, not truncated, so a shortened ID cannot name a model the provider does not serve). Both limits are exported and tested at, just under, and over the boundary./modelsentry can never set a cost. A comment ingetMimoModelsnow records that choice so it is not mistaken for an oversight.Scope of this round:
src/api/providers/mimo.ts,src/api/providers/fetchers/mimo.ts,src/core/webview/webviewMessageHandler.ts,src/extension/api.ts, plus their specs and one new spec. No behavior change for any other provider.
