Security Policy — Bank-With-High-Functionalities

The maintainers of Bank-With-High-Functionalities take security seriously and are committed to ensuring that vulnerabilities are handled responsibly, transparently, and efficiently. This document explains how to report security issues, how they are handled, and what users can expect during the disclosure and remediation process.

Supported Versions

Security updates are provided only for actively maintained versions of the project.
Security updates are provided exclusively for the current codebase on the repository’s default branch (main). Earlier versions or forks are not maintained.

Older forks, archived versions, or significantly modified derivatives are not covered by this policy.

Reporting a Vulnerability

If you believe you have discovered a security vulnerability in Bank-With-High-Functionalities, do not open a public issue or discussion. Public disclosure before a fix is available may expose users to risk.

Instead, report the vulnerability privately using the official project contact channels listed on the repository or project homepage.

Your report should include:

  • A clear description of the vulnerability
  • Affected components or modules
  • Steps to reproduce (proof-of-concept if possible)
  • Potential impact and attack scenario
  • Suggested mitigation (if known)
  • Your contact information for follow-up

Well-structured reports enable faster validation and remediation.

Disclosure Process

Upon receiving a valid security report, the maintainers follow a responsible disclosure workflow:

  1. Acknowledgment — The report is reviewed and acknowledged.
  2. Assessment — Impact, severity, and affected scope are evaluated.
  3. Remediation — A fix or mitigation is developed and tested.
  4. Release — Security patch is published in the repository.
  5. Advisory — Disclosure may be published after remediation.

The goal is to protect users while ensuring accurate and coordinated resolution.

Response Timeline

While exact timing depends on complexity and maintainer availability, typical targets are:

  • Initial acknowledgment: within a few days
  • Validation and triage: several days
  • Fix development: varies by severity and scope
  • Public disclosure: after patch release

Critical vulnerabilities are prioritized.

Scope

This policy applies to vulnerabilities that affect the security properties of Bank-With-High-Functionalities, including but not limited to:

  • Authentication or authorization flaws
  • Data exposure or leakage
  • Injection vulnerabilities
  • Privilege escalation paths
  • Integrity or trust boundary violations
  • Unsafe configuration defaults
  • Sensitive information handling issues

Issues outside the project’s codebase or documentation (such as external infrastructure, third-party services, or user deployment environments) may fall outside scope unless directly caused by the project.

Out of Scope

The following are generally not considered security vulnerabilities under this policy:

  • Issues in unsupported or heavily modified forks
  • Hypothetical or non-reproducible reports
  • Denial-of-service via unrealistic resource exhaustion
  • Missing best-practice recommendations without exploit path
  • Vulnerabilities solely in third-party dependencies
  • Social engineering scenarios

Such reports may be acknowledged but not treated as security incidents.

Coordinated Disclosure

Reporters are expected to follow responsible disclosure practices:

  • Do not publish or share details before a fix is available
  • Allow reasonable time for remediation
  • Avoid exploiting the vulnerability beyond proof-of-concept
  • Respect user privacy and data

Maintainers will coordinate disclosure timing when possible.

Credit and Acknowledgment

Valid security reports that lead to confirmed fixes may be acknowledged in:

  • Release notes
  • Security advisories
  • Repository acknowledgments

Recognition is subject to reporter preference and responsible conduct.

Security Best Practices for Users

Users deploying or extending Bank-With-High-Functionalities should:

  • Keep deployments updated to latest version
  • Restrict access to configuration and secrets
  • Use secure database credentials and storage
  • Follow least-privilege principles
  • Validate external inputs
  • Monitor logs and audit trails

Secure deployment practices remain the responsibility of the user environment.

Policy Updates

This security policy may be updated as the project evolves.
Users and contributors should refer to the latest version in the repository.

Acknowledgment

We appreciate responsible security research and coordinated disclosure efforts that help improve the safety and reliability of Bank-With-High-Functionalities for all users.
