Hopefully it would meet the requirements of what you need from drag & drop of blocks. There are still a number of things to work out for mobile support but hopefully this is in the right direction
Hi @nperez0111
I'm happy to see progress on this 🤩
Unfortunately, no, for me, dragging with the drag handle still does not work on mobile on the links you provided.
Device details:
Android 15 / /e/OS 4.4.1
Firefox 159.0.1
@judithroth, I should have been clearer, in the PR description of #3309 I laid out that to get the side menu drag handle to work is difficult to get right on mobile because it requires a larger touch point. So, what I ended up implementing is that you can tap and hold a block (when the keyboard is dismissed and not actively editing) which should allow you to drag up and down the block like in the video below. I didn't test this on Android, and I would definitely do more validation on that before merging. But, I think it should work the same for you.

So, this is:
tap and hold on a block's content
wait for the drag preview to show that you are moving that content
drop to move that content
This strategy is how Notion handles it on mobile, they do not even show the side menu on mobile, and I will review this with @matthewlipski and @YousefED to see what UX/UI we would want to present, but I'm leaning towards removing those on mobile to get more screen real estate, and to put their respective functionality in the new mobile formatting toolbar.
Sorry again for being unclear, I've been looking at this for too long and just assumed you'd know how it worked.
Hi @nperez0111
yes, I should have read more carefully, sorry! You're right - dragging with long tap on an element works for me on the links you provided. It's still confusing to have the drag handle, which works on desktop but not mobile, but dragging by long tap is a great improvement!

I can confirm this issue on iOS Safari.

I can confirm this issue on Firefox on Android. Starting to drag on the handle only scrolls the whole editor page.

I was able to re-order if you tap and hold on the block handle first, it switches to a line which you can then drag:
Vandium (chromium engine) on GrapheneOS (Android)
Does that work for anybody else?

Hi BlockNote-Team,
this issue is important to us (OpenProject). Would it be possible to resolve it in one of the next releases?

@judithroth & @wielinde would you mind testing #3309 on this demo https://blocknote-website-git-feat-mobile-whole-block-dragging-typecell.vercel.app/demo or this one https://blocknote-git-feat-mobile-whole-block-dragging-typecell.vercel.app/basic/default-blocks
Hopefully it would meet the requirements of what you need from drag & drop of blocks. There are still a number of things to work out for mobile support but hopefully this is in the right direction

@nperez0111 works for me on iOS Safari (and also iOS FF). Nice work!
Tiny thing: i am not convinced about the green plus bubble with the white plus when dragging. To me it indicates a duplicación which it does not.
