providerProfiles.js mock to the real module; mock.restore() does not clear
mock.module() overrides. Create a cache-busted real module snapshot alongside
the existing fastMode and extraUsage snapshots, then register it in afterAll.

Findings
🟡 P2 — Finish providerProfiles.js file-exit restore in model.test.tsx (CodeRabbit 4345387803)
📍 Where: src/commands/model/model.test.tsx — mockProviderProfiles() / afterAll cleanup (inline comment targets lines 56–60).
💥 What fails: The suite registers a process-wide mock.module on ../../utils/providerProfiles.js (via mockProviderProfiles). mock.restore() in afterEach does not unregister that override. The new afterAll restores discovery, fastMode, and extraUsage, but not providerProfiles.js, so the stub can still leak into later files in the same bun test process — the same failure class this slice is fixing elsewhere.
function mockProviderProfiles(/* ... */): void {
// ...
mock.module('../../utils/providerProfiles.js', () => ({
...providerProfilesMock,
...overrides,
}))
}
afterAll(() => {
mock.restore()
restoreDiscoveryModules()
mock.module('../../utils/fastMode.js', () => REAL_FAST_MODE_FOR_MODEL_TEST)
mock.module('../../utils/extraUsage.js', () => REAL_EXTRA_USAGE_FOR_MODEL_TEST)
// providerProfiles.js not restored here
})🔎 Root cause: File-exit restore for mock.module is incomplete on a path this PR already teaches the suite to fix for sibling modules.
📜 Stated contract:
mock.restore() does not unregister mock.module registrations … Every restore here uses a cache-busted real-module import (
?real=<nonce>) captured before any mock is registered
(PR description.)
🏷️ Attribution: incomplete claimed fix on a changed file (gap existed at merge-base; this head adds partial afterAll without providerProfiles.js).
📌 In this PR:
src/commands/model/model.test.tsx—afterAllrestores discovery / fastMode / extraUsage onlymockProviderProfiles— still leavesproviderProfiles.jspinned when the file finishes
🔒 Unchanged on main: Other long-lived mock.module targets in the same huge file (settings, ModelPicker, etc.) — do not expand this PR to rewrite the whole file.
🔧 Required correction: Add a cache-busted real snapshot and register it in the existing afterAll (after mock.restore()), matching the discovery/fastMode/extraUsage pattern:
const REAL_PROVIDER_PROFILES_FOR_MODEL_TEST = {
...await import(`../../utils/providerProfiles.js?real=${nonce}`),
}
afterAll(() => {
mock.restore()
restoreDiscoveryModules()
mock.module('../../utils/fastMode.js', () => REAL_FAST_MODE_FOR_MODEL_TEST)
mock.module('../../utils/extraUsage.js', () => REAL_EXTRA_USAGE_FOR_MODEL_TEST)
mock.module(
'../../utils/providerProfiles.js',
() => REAL_PROVIDER_PROFILES_FOR_MODEL_TEST,
)
})(Place the snapshot next to the other REAL_* imports at the top of the file, reusing the existing nonce.)
🛠️ Author fix: Close the root cause on the model.test.tsx row in one pass with the sibling module restores already added in this PR — do not patch only the privacy-test finally block.
🚫 Out of scope: Restoring every legacy mock in model.test.tsx, slice-3 files, or gitSettings debt.
Review notes (non-blocking)
- Snapshot ordering: For each path this PR targets, the cache-busted
await import(...?real=...)runs at module top level before the first in-filemock.modulefor that path. Passthrough files still use staticimport * as actual*for modules outside this slice (e.g.providerProfilesincatalogDedup) — unchanged from merge-base. - Assertions: No matchers loosened; only structural wrapping in the descriptor privacy test.
- All 18 files: Match TA-001 slice 2 scope (provider/betas/sessionTitle/discovery mock writers and passthrough snapshots listed in the PR body).

Summary
TA-001 slice 2 (Phase 0 plan item 6). Test files only. Restores module mocks that survived each file's cleanup and leaked into later files in a single-process
bun test.mock.restore()does not unregistermock.moduleregistrations, and several "restores" re-registered a namespace copied from a normal import, which may already be an earlier file's mock. Every restore here uses a cache-busted real-module import (?real=<nonce>) captured before any mock is registered, the same pattern asdomainCheck.test.tsand #2328.Root causes and fixes (18 files)
apiPreconnect,effort,model/agent,modelOptions.{codexRecovery,gateways,github,hicap},openaiModelDiscovery,swarm/teammateModel. Each left a pinnedgetAPIProvider(and sometimes classification or account-flow helpers) registered. Added anafterAllthat restores the realproviders.js.ModelPicker.switchProfile,modelOptions.catalogDedup,modelOptions.crossProfile,attribution(providers, model, settings),conversationRecovery(providers, udsClient),conversationRecovery.hooks(providers, sessionStart). These now use cache-busted real snapshots.statusNoticeDefinitions.safety: thebetas.jsmodelSupportsAutoModeand provider mocks stayed registered. Factories now spread the real surface, and anafterAllrestores both modules.sessionTitle: seven mocks (analytics, claudequeryHaiku, betas, combinedAbortSignal, debug, model, providers) were never restored, which left a throwingqueryHaiku. All seven are restored inafterAll.commands/model/model.test.tsx: the privacy test's throwingdiscoverModelsForRouteand its discovery-cache stubs stayed registered after the test. They are now restored infinally, and the four restore snapshots are cache-busted.No assertions were loosened. Out of scope (other slices): status, thinking and envFile tests; settings, config, path and shared-state leaks (modelCost.modelGate, mcp/config, openclaudePaths, providerProfile, PromptInput/utils, commit-message, commandOnlySession/getProjectDir).
