Closes #19.

What changed

  • New offers Cratefield module (crates/tokker-api/src/offers.rs), registered in the Worker next to TokkerApi. Cratefield mounts each module at /v1/<name>, and TokkerApi is named tokker, so /v1/offers needs its own module. It declares the Db and KeyValue ports.
    • GET /v1/offers takes model, provider, creator, provider_type, open_weights, max_input, max_output, currency, stale, sort=blended|input|output (default blended, the 3:1 mix), cursor and limit (1–200, default 50).
      • The max_* filters compare the USD columns. A row with no USD price is excluded from them.
      • All filter values are bound SQL parameters.
    • GET /v1/offers/{provider}/{model} returns one row.
    • Rows are the verbatim json column from D1, so provenance, last_verified_at and the raw native and usd prices are always present. "unknown" stays the string "unknown", and serde_json's float_roundtrip is enabled so numbers come back unchanged. stale and stale_since are stamped at read time by the existing freshness::staleness (Freshness SLAs and stale flags: computed in the build and returned on every row #18).
    • Envelope: list responses are {as_of, source_commit, license, data: [...], next_cursor}; the item response is {as_of, source_commit, license, data: {...}}.
      • as_of is the latest last_verified_at across offers and plans.
      • source_commit falls back to "unknown" when the mirror hasn't written it.
      • license falls back to the dataset's license string. A test pins that fallback to data/pricing.json.
    • Errors are problem+json. A bad, unknown or repeated parameter returns 400 with the parameter named in detail and in a parameter extension. An unknown id returns 404 naming the id.
  • Query parsing (crates/tokker-api/src/offers_query.rs) is pure code.
    • It validates the query and builds a canonical string that serves as the cache key.
    • Cursors are opaque: base64url of {sort, value, id}.
    • Pagination is keyset. SQL uses ORDER BY col IS NULL, col, id (unpriced rows last, id breaks ties), and the Rust cursor comparison follows the same order. A cursor minted under another sort is a 400.
  • Read-through KV cache for both routes.
    • Key: offers:v1:<generation>:<today>:<canonical query | id>. Only 200 responses are cached, with a 1-hour TTL.
    • Today's date is in the key because stale verdicts change at midnight.
    • KV errors fall through to D1 and never fail a request.
    • pub async fn invalidate_cache(kv, dataset) -> Result<(), KvError> is the hook for the mirror's diff step. It writes the loaded dataset's identity (its source commit) as the generation, so it is idempotent and has no read-modify-write race. It returns an error the loader should treat as a failed load.
  • migrations/0002_dataset_meta.sql adds a dataset_meta(key, value) table for the mirror to fill with source_commit and license.
  • docs/plan.md §3 now lists the full parameter set and briefly describes the contract.
  • New dependency: sea-query (the Db port's parameter type). New dev-dependencies: cratefield-adapter-sqlite = "=0.3.0", tokio, tower, async-trait.
    • The adapter is pinned exactly because 0.3.1 moves to cratefield-core 0.9, which would break the one-cratefield-source rule.

How it was verified

  • CI commands, all green: cargo fmt --all -- --check, cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets -- -D warnings, cargo test --workspace (41 passed), RUSTDOCFLAGS="-D warnings" cargo doc --no-deps --workspace, cargo build -p tokker-worker --target wasm32-unknown-unknown. cargo tree -d --depth 0 | grep cratefield prints nothing.
  • Route tests (crates/tokker-api/tests/offers_routes.rs) run the real Harness router with oneshot.
    • The database is real SQLite, set up from migrations/*.sql. It also mimics D1 returning a whole-number REAL as an integer.
    • The KV is a fake that counts calls and can be made to fail.
    • They cover:
      • each filter alone and in combination
      • all three sort orders, with unpriced rows last and the id tiebreak
      • walking every page: each row exactly once, including a page edge inside the unpriced block
      • the limit bounds, and a bad or mismatched cursor
      • 400s for unknown, repeated and invalid parameters, each naming the parameter
      • 404
      • the envelope fields and the stale filter
      • a row with cache_write_per_mtok: "unknown" round-tripping unchanged, in both the list and the item route
      • cache hit, invalidation, idempotence and malformed generation tokens on both routes
      • a failing KV falling through to D1
  • wrangler dev --local (wrangler 4.151.1) with local D1 seeded from data/pricing.json (480 offers, 103 plans):
    • Smoke checks all behaved as expected: list, sort=input, cursor follow-up, item, 404 problem+json, 400 for limit=500. xai/grok-4.7 comes back with cache_write_per_mtok: "unknown" as a string.
    • Warm KV latency over 200 sequential requests per URL had p95 of 7.2–8.3 ms: /v1/offers 7.8 ms, ?sort=input&limit=5 7.7 ms, the item route 7.2 ms, ?limit=200 (337 KB) 8.3 ms. The target is 50 ms. Uncached D1 requests took 35–111 ms.

Worth a close look

  • Size. This is over the 400-line guideline: about 2,300 new lines (offers.rs 607, offers_query.rs 656 including its unit tests, tests/offers_routes.rs 1,020, migration 19), plus 253 lines in tracked files, 223 of them Cargo.lock. Most of it is the route and parser tests the acceptance criteria ask for. The tests were consolidated after review (table-driven 400 cases, shared setup, one parameterised cache test).
  • Cache-Control. cratefield-core 0.8.0 forces Cache-Control: no-store on every /v1/* response (security_headers_layer in src/http.rs), and modules can't opt out. So there is no shared-cache header; caching is server-side KV only. Changing that would be an upstream Cratefield/harness change.
  • Rust-side filtering. The stale filter and keyset paging run in Rust after the SQL fetch, because staleness depends on fetch_recipe.volatility, which has no D1 column. Fine at 480 rows; if the table grows a lot, push the cursor and LIMIT into SQL, which needs a volatility column.
  • Mirror not wired yet. The repo-mirror that fills dataset_meta and calls invalidate_cache is upstream work (plan §5.2 G1) and doesn't exist yet. Until it does, the envelope serves the fallbacks and cache entries roll over only by TTL or day.
  • Vendored helpers. Small base64url and percent-decode helpers are vendored in offers_query.rs, so the wasm build pulls in no extra crate.
  • Migration not applied remotely. migrations/0002_dataset_meta.sql still needs a remote D1 migration when an owner deploys.

Verification notes (advisory; they did not change the verdict):

  • described tests/offers_routes.rs is not on the branch
