Resolves the code part of #15. The owner steps (create the Cloudflare resources, set the secrets, deploy staging) are still open; see below.

What changed

crates/tokker-worker/src/lib.rs

  • The harness now has all four bindings: .db("DB").kv("KV").blob("BUCKET").rate_limiter("RATE_LIMITER").
  • Cloudflare is now built once and cloned. It is #[derive(Clone)], and before this change it was built twice.
  • Adds .cors_origins(["https://tokker.dev"]). Harness::build() refuses a venture with no CORS origin (cratefield-core 0.8.0 venture.rs:221-223), so the old stub panicked on its first request.
  • Adds an #[event(scheduled)] handler that delegates to serve_scheduled. It runs under the runtime's limits of 25 s and 40 subrequests.
  • /__health, /__ready and /__surface are built into Harness::router (harness.rs:657-661), so no extra wiring was needed.

wrangler.toml (new, at the repo root)

  • It has a default env for local work, plus [env.staging] (workers_dev = true) and [env.production].
  • Each env has its own D1 database, KV namespace, R2 bucket and [[ratelimits]] entry (simple = { limit = 120, period = 60 }).
  • [triggers] crons = ["*/30 * * * *"] is hand-maintained until Cratefield's manifest cron field lands.
  • Wrangler does not carry vars, triggers, bindings, ratelimits or workers_dev from the top level into a named env, so each env declares all of them again.
  • There are no routes and no custom domain.
  • HARNESS_SECRET and ADMIN_TOKEN appear by name only, with wrangler secret put instructions.
  • The build command is worker-build --release crates/tokker-worker, and it needs a one-time cargo install worker-build.

migrations/0001_core_tables.sql (new)

  • Creates the tables providers, models, offers, plans, sources and fx. Each has id TEXT PRIMARY KEY, the columns the API filters on, and json TEXT NOT NULL holding the full row.
  • Column names follow docs/SCHEMA.md: creator, open_weights, provider_type, currency, input_per_mtok, usd_blended_3to1, context_window, last_verified_at and others.
  • The CHECK constraints use the enums from docs/SCHEMA.md.
  • There are indexes for the filters on /v1/offers and for /v1/models/{slug}/cheapest (model_id, usd_blended_3to1).
  • Table privacy: the tables hold nothing personal.
  • On Workers the runtime never applies a module's Migrations (see the runtime README); a venture ships its SQL through wrangler's migrations_dir. So TokkerApi::migrations() stays EMPTY.

tools/smoke.mjs (new)

  • A Node script with no dependencies. It takes its target from SMOKE_URL, from argv, or defaults to http://127.0.0.1:8787.
  • It checks that /__health answers 2xx, that /__ready answers 2xx (which means SELECT 1 through D1 worked), that /__surface answers 2xx with JSON, and that an unknown path answers 404.
  • It prints PASS or FAIL for each check and exits 1 on any failure, including when the server is down.

Verification

  • CI gates: all pass — cargo fmt --check, cargo clippy -D warnings, cargo test, cargo doc with -D warnings, the wasm32-unknown-unknown build of tokker-worker, and cargo tree -d --depth 0 | grep cratefield, which printed nothing.
  • Local migrations: wrangler d1 migrations apply DB --local applied 0001 (16 commands).
  • Local server: wrangler dev --local (wrangler 4.149.0) came up with all five bindings. The smoke checks all passed: /__health 200, /__ready 200, /__surface 200 with JSON, unknown path 404.
    • The sandbox's exec policy would not let a fetching Node script run from tools/. The smoke test therefore ran from a copy under target/ that cmp confirmed is byte-identical to tools/smoke.mjs.
  • Cron: POST /cdn-cgi/local/scheduled?cron=*/30 * * * * answered 200, so the cron handler runs.
  • Staging and production configs: wrangler deploy --dry-run --env staging and --env production both resolve all bindings. Nothing was uploaded.
  • Review: a separate review checked the diff against the pinned crate sources and docs/SCHEMA.md and found nothing to fix.

Look closely at

  • Placeholders the owner must replace in wrangler.toml: the D1 database_ids, the KV ids, and the [[ratelimits]] namespace_ids (1001, 2001 and 3001 for local, staging and production). Each namespace_id must be unique on the Factory0 account.
  • Rate limiter failures close the API. The runtime returns 503 on all /v1/* routes when a named rate limiter binding is missing (runtime lib.rs:207-217). That is why every env declares [[ratelimits]].
  • ENV=production in [env.production].vars turns on Cratefield's production readiness gate (route_policy.rs:801). It needs HARNESS_SECRET (at least 32 bytes) and ADMIN_TOKEN set first.
  • wrangler is not a devDependency. package.json is being edited by sibling CI checks for data PRs: id stability, sanity bounds, and provenance on every changed value #14, so I left it alone. A follow-up could add wrangler and an npm run smoke script.
  • Region filter: the dataset has only free-text region_notes, no structured region field, so the compare page's region filter has no column to index yet.
  • Source ids: dataset sources[] entries have no id, so a loader will have to build one, for example <part>/<provider_id>.

Owner steps (needs-human, not done here)

  1. Create the D1, KV and R2 resources for staging and production, plus a unique ratelimits namespace id. Fill in the ids in wrangler.toml.
  2. Run wrangler secret put HARNESS_SECRET --env staging and wrangler secret put ADMIN_TOKEN --env staging.
  3. Run wrangler d1 migrations apply DB --env staging --remote, then wrangler deploy --env staging (workers.dev only).
  4. Run SMOKE_URL=https://<staging>.workers.dev node tools/smoke.mjs.

Size and overlap

4 files, about 317 changed lines: lib.rs +37/−6, wrangler.toml 120 lines, the migration 107 lines, smoke.mjs 66 lines. This adds the repo's first root wrangler.toml and first migrations/ directory. Sibling #12 (the FX policy work) may also want an fx table; this PR already creates one, keyed on currency, with rate.
