feat(ai-neon, openai-base): add the Neon AI Gateway adapter - #1851
Conversation
…dapter A subclass can return undefined for a backend that rejects stream_options. The default still asks for the usage-only tail chunk.
neonText sends Claude to the Anthropic Messages route, codex and *-pro models to the Responses route, and every other model to Chat Completions. Adds neonEmbedding, neonSummarize, and a daily catalog sync from neon.com/models.

I feel like we're repeating a lot of code to create adapters for gateways. I'm wondering if we should add base adapters for the Anthropic & Gemini wire shapes - like anthropicCompatible, geminiCompatible. I'm going to park this adapter for the moment. I'd be happy to support Neon, I'm just trying to think of ways to reduce the amount of code needed to support everyone. |

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Consume the chat stream in the usage example.
chat() returns an async iterable. This example leaves stream unread, so running it as shown produces no reply. Consume it with streamToText(stream) or return it from a server endpoint. (tanstack.com)

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Remove inherited stream_options when the hook rejects them.
If a caller supplies modelOptions.stream_options for a Neon model in NEON_MODELS_REJECTING_STREAM_OPTIONS, mapOptionsToRequest puts the field in requestParams. An undefined hook result does not remove it, so the regular streaming request can still receive the documented 400 response. Remove stream_options from requestParams before adding the hook result, as the structured-output streaming path does.

…merge Main dropped claude-opus-4-1 from ai-anthropic, so the generator now keeps it on Chat Completions. Main also requires threadId on chat(), chatStream() and summarize().

Call Claude, GPT, Gemini, and open models through the Neon AI Gateway with one Neon credential.

wrapFetch.neon-sampling-wire.spec.tschecks rejected sampling, Responses summarize token limits, and reasoning usage received over SSE.Risk / rollback
The adapter is a new package. Existing Chat Completions subclasses retain the same default
stream_options. Gateway behavior can change, so catalog sync and protocol tests cover model-specific rules. Revert the PR to roll back.Public API change
