• Disables CSS and IFrame loading by default to prevent server-side request forgery (SSRF) - By @​capricorn86
  • An attacker could embed <iframe> or <link rel="stylesheet"> elements in untrusted HTML to make Happy DOM send HTTP requests from the server to attacker-chosen URLs, including internal services. This could allow access to otherwise unreachable endpoints or trigger unintended actions, depending on the application and its network access.
  • The settings property disableCSSFileLoading has been deprecated
  • Added the new settings properties enableCSSFileLoading and enableIframePageLoading
  • If you don't believe that you are at risk, you can keep the same behavior as in <=v20.14.6 by sending in { enableCSSFileLoading: true, enableIframePageLoading: true } as broswer settings (e.g. new Window({ settings }));

No findings. I read AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, and the full diff of package.json and package-lock.json against origin/main at 35756d5. CONTRIBUTING.md is absent. I also read vitest.config.mts, vitest.setup.ts, the happy-dom and Vitest lockfile entries, the CI test and audit jobs, and .github/workflows/githits-policy.yml. The lockfile integrity matches the npm registry, the published happy-dom 21.0.4 dependency list matches the lockfile, and that version is the current latest. OSV reports no advisories for 21.0.4 and three for 20.14.5 (cookie scope forgery, stylesheet and iframe SSRF, and ESM import-alias code injection). The installed compiler contains the binding check. happy-dom is only the Vitest environment. Nothing in the repo constructs a Window or loads an iframe or external stylesheet, so the v21 default that turns those loads off does not change this app. I ran npm ci and Vitest: 1656 passed, 29 skipped, 1 file skipped. I did not read every component test body, and I did not run the Postgres ledger integration tests, Playwright, typecheck, lint, build, or the private GitHits policy check.
