Linux’s hidden startup viewport can temporarily report a narrow width. The home sidebar clamp was overwriting its preferred width, so it stayed at 190px after the window expanded. Keep the preferred width and constrain only the rendered width; restore it when the viewport grows. Add regression coverage and update the beta.1/beta.2 release notes for the refreshed test builds.

Validation: typecheck, lint, Prettier, CSS contract, 215 renderer tests, 921 Rust/contract tests, Clippy, and the Linux updater tests passed.
