What happened
Business information gathered as part of the onboarding skill while store preview was generating was only partially carried into the claimed-store experience. I was asked again for the business name, products, store type, and location, and none of that was passed through to admin. Codex confirmed that it had packaged the context and shared it with Shopify.
Steps to reproduce
- In Codex CLI, prompt: go to shopify.com/skill.md and create a store (installs shopify-onboarding-merchant).
- Supply business context during preview generation: business name, location, product concepts.
- Complete the Save store / claim flow.
- Continue onboarding in the claimed store.
Expected
Structured business context persists across generation and claim. Supported onboarding fields are prefilled, and any field that cannot transfer is disclosed up front.
