Welcome to the nondominium wiki!

What

Nondominium is a foundational infrastructure project aimed at enabling a new class of Resources that are organization-agnostic, uncapturable, and natively collaborative. These Resources are governed not by platforms or centralized authorities, but through embedded rules, transparent peer validation, and a comprehensive reputation system.

The project's immediate goal is to support a peer sharing economy, overcoming the structural flaws of centralized platforms (centralization of power, censorship, unsuitable regulations). The longrr term goal is to support peer production.

Why

The main objective of the Nondominium initiative is to build infrastructure to support the peer sharing economy, with plans to expand this to peer production. The impact of Nondominium is manifold, but we can think of it in two ways:

  • Boosting existing p2p initiatives: Ex. help open source hardware communities built around Fablabs and Makerspaces (referred to as open and collaborative spaces, or OCS). Nondominium reduces friction in the flow of resources between OCSs and transforms the loose global network of OCSs into a cohesive and tightly coordinated ecosystem.
  • Helping traditional organizations in transition: Nondominim provides shared infrastructure to reduce transaction costs among traditional organizations for sharing resources and to engage in collaborative processes, while preserving their current structure.

How

Organizational model

Nondominium is built by what we call an open venture. Open ventures are environments where we practice collaborative entrepreneurship. Anyone can join an open venture, so you're welcome.

Economic model

The Nondominium open venture uses a p2p economic model that we call OVN.

Technically

Built on the Holochain framework and using the Valueflows standard, Nondominium allows any Agent to interact with these Resources in a permissionless but accountable environment, with automatic reputation tracking through Private Participation Receipts (PPRs).
