A learner sent here from a scimigo.com lab's run panel (SciMigo/scimigo-learn#135) met a clone-and-venv recipe first.

Installation now starts with:

  • macOS: the installer script, which already existed at scripts/install-macos.sh.
  • Linux, or anywhere with uv: uv tool install --from https://github.com/SciMigo/agent-runtime/archive/refs/heads/main.tar.gz agent-runtime. Verified in isolation: it installs and agent-runtime --version prints 0.1.0.

The section also covers uv tool update-shell and warns that agent-runtime on PyPI is an unrelated package. The clone recipe stays, for working on the runtime.

Installation now starts with the macOS installer script and, for Linux or any
machine with uv, `uv tool install --from <archive> agent-runtime` (checked: it
installs and runs). The clone recipe stays, for working on the runtime.
