feat(dpor): implement dynamic property-aware partial order reduction (Spec 15) - #55
Conversation
…(Spec 15) - Establish Spec 15 in docs/specs/active/15-property-aware-dpor/ with formal soundness proof, visibility contract, and verification matrix - Expose IndependenceRelation.writesOverlap() as public for cross-package visibility - Update DporExplorer to apply property visibility when Invariant.observedLocations() is present: * Visible candidate steps never enter sleep sets (Rule 1) * Visible step execution refreshes sleeping transitions (Rule 2) * Independent invisible steps are pruned via sleep sets * Retain exhaustive dfsDfs fallback for unknown observations and DSL final checks (Rule 3) - Add DporPropertyAwarenessTest exercising reduction, visible races, sleep set refresh, and differential equivalence across all BugCorpus benchmarks Co-authored-by: Gemini <gemini@google.com>

describe them as planned rather than completed.

annotated invariants with complete observations can use property-aware DPOR
pruning, while predicates with unknown or unannotated observations retain
exhaustive fallback. Replace the claim that DPOR’s invariant fallback is
unchanged with this distinction.

Worth a look — the grounded gate found no coupling regressions or blocking issues, but 2 advisory finding(s) below merit a look before merge.
Not checked: tests were not run; no formal proof of the changed code.
Graphify review — findings
Adds property-aware sleep-set pruning to DporExplorer. When an invariant declares its observed locations, only steps whose writes overlap them are treated as visible: visible steps never enter a sleep set and executing one clears it, while invisible independent steps can still be pruned. Invariants with unknown observations (and DSL final assertions) fall back to unreduced DFS, though the pruning in dporDfs is combined with visited-state deduplication and that interaction is where a missed violation could hide. Adds the Spec 15 documents (visibility contract, soundness proof, verification matrix and benchmarks) plus a README pointer, and a DporPropertyAwarenessTest suite covering reduction, intermediate-violation preservation and the exhaustive fallback. The proof's Theorem 1 does not account for the visited-state store, and the verification matrix names tests the suite may not contain.

Summary
This PR establishes Spec 15 and implements Dynamic Property-Aware Partial Order Reduction (Item 8) in
DporExplorer.Historically,
DporExplorercompletely disabled sleep-set reduction whenever an invariant was provided, falling back to unreduced exhaustive DFS (dfsDfs). This PR integrates state-property visibility into DPOR, enabling sleep-set pruning of independent invisible operations while strictly preserving violation detection and exhaustive fallback for unannotated properties.Key Changes
