Summary

  • Teach revenuecat-paywall-design and revenuecat-cli to upload paywall images and fonts with rc media-assets upload / rc fonts upload. MCP has no upload tools for these, and the server is remote, so it cannot read files on the user's disk.
  • Installing the plugin does not install the CLI: it ships skills and the hosted MCP server only. revenuecat-cli now runs a check before the first command:
    • rc --version; if missing, use npx @revenuecat/cli, or ask before brew install RevenueCat/tap/rc / npm install -g @revenuecat/cli.
    • rc auth status --json; the CLI does not share the MCP login, so if nobody is logged in the user runs rc auth login (CI uses RC_API_KEY).
    • --project-id or a default set with rc projects use.
  • Without a shell (ChatGPT, Claude.ai), the agent uses MCP, and for uploads tells the user which rc command to run or to upload in the dashboard. It never drives the dashboard in a browser, and never asks for a secret key in chat.
  • Version 2.3.1. This is a package change, so the ChatGPT/Codex listing needs a new ZIP review.

Test plan

  • Ask to upload a generated image to paywall resources: loads paywall-design or CLI, uses rc media-assets upload, does not open the dashboard
  • Ask to upload a custom paywall font: uses rc fonts upload
  • With rc not installed: agent checks rc --version, then uses npx or asks before installing
  • With the CLI logged out: agent asks the user to run rc auth login instead of asking for a key
  • In a surface without a shell: agent tells the user how to upload instead of trying the CLI
  • Confirm this is distinct from create-paywall-ai generating a hero image on a paywall

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

MCP has no Media Gallery or font upload tools, so point paywall-design
and the CLI skill at rc media-assets upload / rc fonts upload instead of
the dashboard in a browser.

The plugin installs skills and the MCP server, not the CLI, so the CLI
skill now checks `rc --version` (falling back to npx, or asking before
brew/npm install) and `rc auth status`, since the CLI has its own login.
paywall-design explains why MCP can't upload files and falls back to the
user uploading when the agent has no shell.
