Summary

Correct the deck's statements about how the CE uses TAXSIM. The CE published federal and state income tax estimates from TAXSIM from the second quarter of 2013 through the 2023 data. The 2024 data has no tax or after-tax income estimates, and BLS keeps a tax unit identifier so that users can produce their own.

Where Before After
Slide 26 diagram CE's current TAXSIM run / In production since the 2013 data. CE's TAXSIM estimates / Published for 2013–2023 data.
Slide 27, "CE would provide" …in the current TAXSIM format / The current TAXSIM outputs… …in the TAXSIM input format / Its published TAXSIM estimates…
Notes, slides 8, 26 and 27 "has used TAXSIM since the 2013 data" The 2013–2023 history, the 2024 gap in BLS's words, and that a comparison year must be 2023 or earlier

The slides give only the years. The 2024 gap and the reason, as BLS gives it, are in the speaker notes.

The CE used TAXSIM for its federal and state tax estimates from the
second quarter of 2013 through the 2023 data; the 2024 data has no tax
or after-tax income estimates (CE PUMD Getting Started Guide, CE FAQ
42, notice "Changes to After Tax Income").

- Slide 26 diagram: "CE's current TAXSIM run / In production since the
2013 data" becomes "CE's TAXSIM estimates / Published for 2013-2023
  data; none for 2024".
- Slide 27: CE would provide records "in the TAXSIM input format" and
"its published TAXSIM estimates", not "current" ones.
- Notes on slides 8, 26 and 27: the 2013-2023 history, the 2024 gap in
BLS's own words, and that a comparison year must be 2023 or earlier.
