The PICT IEEE Student Branch was founded in 1988 at the Pune Institute of Computer Technology to build technical awareness among its members and keep them close to the latest developments across technology. As part of IEEE, the world's largest technical professional organisation, members get IEEE's libraries, magazines and research papers, along with its scholarships, competitions and global network.
Every year PISB hosts Credenz, its annual technical festival. Credenz events include NTH (Network Treasure Hunt), DataWiz, Reverse Coding, Enigma, Wallstreet, Roboliga, and Xodia. Alongside Credenz, PISB runs Credenz Tech Dayz (CTD), the TechRush hackathon, and SIGs (Special Interest Groups), where seniors teach juniors ML, frontend, full stack, app development, C++ and Python.
PISB also runs:
- Seminars by people from industry, on the latest in technology
- P.I.N.G. (PICT IEEE Newsletter Group), PISB's technical magazine, published twice a year
- Women in Engineering (WIE): workshops, seminars and outreach (including rural and orphanage teaching visits) to bring more women into technical fields
- The R&D wing: student research projects and proposals
Domains: App Development · Competitive Programming · Web Development · ML & AI · IoT & Robotics · Digital Design · Logic & Reasoning · Marketing & Finance
The one rule: every event or SIG has one repo, named after it, and every year is a folder inside it. New here? Read the 5-minute guide: How to push to PISB GitHub →

The PISB R&D wing helps students go past coursework and into real research:
- MRL shared task (EMNLP 2026): PISB members are building question-answering datasets in five Devanagari-script languages (Sanskrit, Marwari, Marathi, Hindi, Bhojpuri) for the shared task at the Workshop on Multilingual Representation Learning.
- EPICS in IEEE proposals: teams have drafted several community-engineering proposals: dyslexia screening, wearable gas-leak detection, sanitation-worker safety, flood monitoring, and the AgroSaarthi farming assistant. See
