The hero Boppy now listens like someone into the music.

  • At rest: the mouth is a true flat line with round ends (it was a squashed oval).
  • On its own, every few seconds: it shuts its eyes for a moment (soft closed lids, sometimes with a small smile and pink cheeks), hums with small mouth movements, or sings a short phrase with a few notes and a blush.
  • Pointing at it makes it smile and blush.
  • Tapping it starts a song of its own length (4 to 9 syllables, about 1.5 to 4.5 s). Each syllable is a different size of "o" or an open smile, now and then a held note that wavers, with notes flying and the head bopping. It ends on a big grin, then goes back to listening.
  • Removed: the squint. Blinks are quicker and more natural.
  • With reduced motion it stays exactly the static drawing. Cache busters bumped for styles.css and notes.js.

Tested: node scripts/test-site.mjs passes. A headless Chrome check, run 3 times, covers the hover smile and blush, the return to the flat line, the tapped song (many mouth shapes, a blush, a smile, back to rest in 4.1 to 6.8 s including the grin), never two head bops at once, no page errors, and reduced motion.

…es, hums or sings a little on its own, smiles and blushes when you point at it, and sings a song of its own length when tapped
