Create a host-only Cargo workspace that specializes selected CUB forms through NVRTC and reports exact scratch layouts with their LTO output. Bind specialization identities to source, headers and toolkit bytes. Include a runnable provider example, Rust guide and CPU checks. Signed-off-by: Trent Nelson <trent@trent.me>
Install the pinned toolchain without updating rustup itself. Signed-off-by: Trent Nelson <trent@trent.me>

Select fixture output locations from raw CUDA coordinates and exercise payload initialization, access and copying at both item counts. Annotate compile-fail examples and clarify hierarchy ordering in the guide. Signed-off-by: Trent Nelson <trent@trent.me>

Superseded by #12088, which now owns this implementation within its complete feature family. The original commits, branch and validation evidence remain available. This draft is closed unmerged.
Historical scope and validation below refer to the original source heads.
Adds initialized-slot-aware
ThreadDataand hierarchy/group queries for Rustcuda.coop. Payload types are inferred from writes, item counts remain const generics, and checked reads expose initialized slots. Group queries preserve block-major ordering and mapped membership.Builds on #12088; focused owning diff. The compatibility update pins the coordinated compiler source, selects Rust 1.99.1 and documents the workspace’s required unstable-feature configuration. The query lock resolves artifact metadata from that same compiler source. Payload/query implementation and test bodies are unchanged. GitHub’s Files changed includes prerequisites while this PR targets main; use the focused diff above.
The exact locked graph, 26 host tests/doctests, strict Clippy/rustdoc, formatting and Rust guide pass. The unchanged release query consumer builds with the matching automatic backend; inspection confirms its five kernel roots and argument layouts. GPU qualification passes: the original 308,480-value positive, five caught-error cases and memcheck, with positive health replays after each error case. Current-head CI is separate.
