Hi, I'm Max Loffgren.

I'm a CS student at Rice University and a Member Technical Staff Intern at Firecrawl. My research focuses on LLM faithfulness and mechanistic interpretability, measuring when chain-of-thought steps reflect what drives model outputs.

Mechanistic Evidence for Faithfulness Decay in Chain-of-Thought Reasoning Introduces NLDD, a logit-space metric for CoT step faithfulness via counterfactual corruption. ICLR 2026 LIT Workshop. Code: NLDD-CoT.
