Summary

  • Pin @astra-spec/ui to 0.0.6 in packages/astra; the lockfile picks up its new transitive dependency react-zoom-pan-pinch.
  • Pin the preview workflow (both the reusable workflow ref and the packed ui ref) to the astra-ui commit carrying the 0.0.6 release. The preview packs that checkout rather than our npm pin, so without this the PR preview kept rendering with 0.0.5.
  • Hide the new project-hierarchy tree in the page inventory (showHierarchy={false}). The page fixes which analysis is read and sub-analyses have their own pages, so the tree would be inert or duplicate site navigation.
  • Stack the bibliography card opened from a citation inside a record preview above that preview. Both portal as siblings, so its fixed z-index of 70 painted it behind the parent at 1100; it now sits one above the shared preview token, pinned by the stylesheet contract test.
  • No other source changes needed. The removed public exports (OutputCard/PriorInsightsList from blocks, indirectDecisionPaths from model) come from layers the theme never imports. The dropped prior_insights inventory section is independent of the in-document record kind we still render. Every astra-ui class our stylesheet overrides still exists in 0.0.6, and our inventory dialog override remains more specific than the reworked upstream panel widths.

Visible changes from upstream

  • Inventory "Prior insights" section is gone; "Papers" is now labelled "Bibliography".
  • Inventory figures gain zoom and pan controls.
  • Wider inventory sidebar; collapse breakpoint moves from 992px to 760px.

New opt-in Inventory props (getOutputStatus, renderProvenance, renderCodeLink) are not wired yet.

Test plan

  • npm run typecheck
  • npx vitest run (140 tests, including new assertions for no hierarchy and citation stacking)
  • npm run build:article
  • PR preview footer reports @astra-spec/ui 0.0.6
  • PR preview inventory shows no Prior insights section and no project hierarchy
  • PR preview: hovering a citation inside a prior-insight preview shows the bibliography card on top

No source changes are needed: the removed public exports come from layers
the theme never imports, the dropped prior_insights inventory section is
independent of the in-document record kind we render, and every astra-ui
class our stylesheet overrides still exists. Typecheck, the test suite and
a production article build all pass on the new version.

The reusable preview workflow packs the astra-ui checkout it is given, not
the version this theme pins on npm, so the PR preview was still rendering
the inventory with 0.0.5. Point both the workflow and the packed `ui` ref at
the commit that carries the 0.0.6 release.

astra-ui 0.0.6 shows analysis navigation in the inventory sidebar by
default. The theme controls which analysis is read through the page itself
and reaches sub-analyses through their own pages, so the tree would either
be inert or duplicate site navigation. Turn it off.

A citation hovered inside a shared record preview opens its bibliography
card in a sibling portal, not inside the parent. Its fixed z-index of 70
therefore sat below the shared preview level (1100) and the card was
painted behind the record it was opened from. Stack it one above that
token instead, and pin the relationship in the stylesheet contract.
