Hi, I'm James

I'm a final-year Computer Systems student at the University of Limerick. Most of my work so far has been on the infrastructure and testing side: release tooling, CI pipelines and test automation.

What I've worked on

Microsoft, Azure Core

Software Engineering Intern, 2026

Built a release orchestration agent that brings approvals, pipeline queues and compliance checks into one place, replacing a release process that used to live across about 15 tabs and bookmarks. I also added targeted build caching to CI pipelines, which cut build times by up to 33% and saves the team 80+ hours of developer time a week.

Deloitte

Junior Developer, 2025–2026

Started test automation on my team and built a Playwright regression framework of 400+ end-to-end tests. Each test runs in about 3 minutes and replaces 20–40 minutes of manual testing. Deloitte set up a dedicated Test Automation team after my placement to carry the work on. Also built features in C#, Blazor and JavaScript.

Biocomputing and Development Systems Group, UL

Research Intern, 2024

Built an R/Shiny app for exploring medical datasets and cut view load times by 38% with predictive pre-loading. The work led to a co-authored paper, DataPulse, presented at DATA 2025 in Bilbao.
