Cross-client custom profile badges on Discord: tooltips, popup cards, and a toolbar-popup dashboard for editing/publishing your own badge.
One badge. Every client. Zero exceptions.
Works alongside Vencord, Equicord, BetterDiscord, and plain discord.com.
Open PowerShell and run:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ItzMeShadow999/CustomBadgesExtc/main/install.ps1 | iexThe installer walks you through everything:
- ◆ Pick your browser: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi or Firefox
- ◆ Downloads the extension files to
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CustomBadgesExtcwith a live progress line (Firefox skips this and opens the official add-on page instead) - ◆ Opens that folder, copies its path to your clipboard and opens your browser's extensions page
Browsers do not allow silent installs of unpacked extensions, so two clicks are left for you:
- Turn on Developer mode (switch in the top right of the extensions page).
- Click Load unpacked and pick the folder (its path is already on your clipboard).
Then pin the CustomBadges icon and refresh your Discord tab.
To update, run the same command again, then click the Reload arrow on the CustomBadges card.
Set any of these environment variables in the same PowerShell window before running the installer:
| Variable | Values | What it does |
|---|---|---|
CB_BROWSER |
chrome, edge, brave, opera, vivaldi or firefox |
Skips the browser menu |
CB_DIR |
a folder path | Where the extension files are saved (default %LOCALAPPDATA%\CustomBadgesExtc) |
Example:
$env:CB_BROWSER='edge'; irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ItzMeShadow999/CustomBadgesExtc/main/install.ps1 | iex- Windows 10 or 11 with PowerShell 5.1 or newer. macOS and Linux users should use the manual steps below.
- The banner uses true color. If your console is too narrow or does not support it, a plain title is used instead.
- Read the script before running it: install.ps1
This extension isn't on the Chrome Web Store, so you'll load it as an unpacked extension (developer mode). Takes about a minute.
- Click the green Code button on this repo → Download ZIP, then unzip it somewhere you'll remember.
- Or, if you have git:
git clone https://github.com/ItzMeShadow999/CustomBadgesExtc.git - Or, for firefox download from: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/custombadges-for-discord/
Tip
If you download from Addons store, skip all the steps of Installing on Firefox.
| Browser | Address to paste |
|---|---|
| Chrome | chrome://extensions |
| Edge | edge://extensions |
| Brave | brave://extensions |
| Opera | opera://extensions |
| Vivaldi | vivaldi://extensions |
Toggle Developer mode on. It's usually a switch in the top-right corner of the extensions page.
Click Load unpacked, then select the extension folder inside the one you unzipped/cloned in step 1 (the one containing manifest.json).
The CustomBadges icon should now appear in your toolbar. Pin it for easy access.
If Discord was already open in a tab, refresh it so the content script attaches.
Pull or re-download the latest files into the same folder, then go back to the extensions page and click the Reload (circular arrow) icon on the CustomBadges card.
- Open
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox. - Click Load Temporary Add-on....
- Select the
manifest.jsonfile inside theextensionfolder. - Reload any open Discord tabs so the content script attaches.
Temporary add-ons are removed when Firefox restarts. For a persistent installation, the extension must be packaged and signed by Mozilla or installed in a Firefox development build.
- Icon greyed out / nothing happens on Discord: make sure the tab is on
discord.comand hard-refresh (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R). - "Manifest file is missing or unreadable": double-check you selected the folder containing
manifest.json(theextensionfolder), not a parent or child folder. - Extension disappears after a browser restart: some Chromium browsers periodically disable unpacked extensions for security. Just re-enable it on the extensions page.
- Manifest V3, so it's compatible with current Chromium versions.
- Badge data is fetched from the CustomBadges backend at
custom-badges.shadow-164.workers.dev.
