pytest had no pythonpath, so `import plexus` resolved to a copy in site-packages rather than src/. The suite was green against source that was not this checkout. test_release_metadata was unaffected because it reads pyproject.toml and __init__.py as text, but every test that imports the package was exercising the installed copy. pyproject now sets pythonpath = ["src"], matching canon, and the suite imports src/plexus/__init__.py. 0.2.2 carries the OIDC release workflow. The version moves in all three places test_release_metadata checks: pyproject, __init__, and the test's own constant. 116 passed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The suite was not testing this checkout
pyproject.tomlhad no[tool.pytest.ini_options], so pytest importedplexusfrom
