This is a good idea but I would change it a bit since the user still needs to find out if their virt-manager has XML editing.
Apparently it was added in virt-manager 2.2.0 as I found here
Also editing the file directly on the filesystem is not recommended since it can change the permission on the file if handled incorrectly. It's recommended to use virsh edit <vmname>

"Older" versions of systems like Ubuntu 18.10 has older versions of virt-manager on the default repos. For users like those, it's important to show them they can manually edit the XML file.
