These diagrams represent the Earth, Lunar, Solar and Cosmic cycles within cycles within cycles within cycles, where each cycle occurs at a particular, different frequency.
The cycle frequencies are one Hertz, the tidal cycle (2 highs and 2 lows per 24 hours), one Earth day, one lunar month, the 4 Earth seasons (3-monthly cycle), one Earth year, 11 years (Solar cycle) 100 years (volcanic flare-up cycle), 1,500 years (Earth's crust-mantle magma cycle), 2,400 years (Bray cycle), 26,000 years (Sun-Sirius pair revolution cycle about Alcyone), 100,000 years (Milankovitch cycle), 225 million year cycle (one galactic rotation/cosmic year).
Notice that the composite wave's amplitude range (shown on the y-axis) is far larger than any individual wave — that's the power of constructive interference, and physically it's why rare alignments of solar, volcanic, and orbital cycles can produce catastrophic climate events out of all proportion to any single driver.
Use the sliders to reduce the Bray and Solar cycles to near zero and watch how many of the extreme peaks simply vanish, suggesting those two are doing a lot of the constructive work in this particular superposition.
