Daniel Falana

Business intelligence and data engineering. I turn messy, disconnected data into pipelines and dashboards that people actually trust and use.

4+ years across data modeling, ETL/ELT, and BI development, spanning classic on-prem stacks (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS) and cloud platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake).

Right now I'm digging into how AI coding agents change the data engineering workflow itself, with Blu Fabric Medallion as the proving ground.

A full Microsoft Fabric Medallion analytics platform (Bronze/Silver/Gold/Consumption) built end to end for a fictional 830-store grocery chain, using an AI coding agent with every architectural decision reviewed by me. Includes a real corrected mistake (an early Gold-layer design that would have silently lost dimension history, caught and fixed before it reached production) and a nightly pipeline that runs itself. Centralized Analytical System & Data Warehouse

A full enterprise data warehouse built on Kimball dimensional modeling, with SSIS ETL, a control and audit framework for data quality, and role-based data marts per department. 113 commits of iterative development. Claimed 80% reduction in manual reporting effort.

CRM Sales Dashboard

An interactive Power BI dashboard consolidating CRM data to track $9.48M in revenue, deal progress, and salesperson performance, with a 62.25% conversion rate surfaced through the model.

Operator Efficiency Dashboard

A Power BI dashboard built to replace manual, error-prone efficiency reporting in a production environment. Found a 62% efficiency improvement opportunity and a 21% reduction in downtime.

Crime Intensity & Trend Analysis, City of Calgary

A self-initiated project using the City of Calgary's open data portal to analyze crime trends across communities, seasons, and categories.

A data modeling project tracing a promotional campaign's data from conceptual ERD through logical and physical implementation.
