👋 Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a 👀 emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! | **Learning:** Using chained `.replace(a, "").replace(b, "")` to check if a string consists entirely of specific characters requires intermediate string allocations for every call. In benchmarks, using `.strip("ab")` is ~30% faster and avoids multiple allocations in the hot path. | ||
| **Action:** When checking if a string is solely composed of specific characters, use `.strip(chars)` instead of chained `.replace()` calls to improve performance. | ||

… read candidate /parse awaited UploadFile.read() but then wrote each chunk to the temporary file with a blocking NamedTemporaryFile.write() on the event-loop thread. Run those writes through asyncio.to_thread so a slow disk write no longer stalls the loop. Keep the named 1 MiB UPLOAD_READ_CHUNK_SIZE_BYTES as a measured candidate, not a proven throughput win: same-host copy-path measurements show larger reads dominate wall time, while offloading the writes only removes the loop-thread write time. Tests cover event-loop-thread exclusion, loop liveness during a blocked write, upload-limit boundaries, exact read-call counts, and temp-file cleanup when an offloaded write fails or the request is cancelled.

Understood. Acknowledging the correction regarding the scope of the deltas in the successor PRs and the status of #709 and #993. |
Retain and shield each file write through repeated caller cancellation so close and unlink cannot race a running worker. Offload close/flush too. Remove the test wrapper's closed-file ValueError suppression and cover worker settlement, error identity and off-loop close.

/parseupload-read-size and temporary-file write candidate. No new duplicate PR was created.a0974d964090427dc84b17aa4055681ba7f3f9c5; protecteddevelop@539528f9667524f6b65de0ee7b8b21fbdd97c380is an ancestor. Publication was a normal fast-forward, not a force push.Source changes
UPLOAD_READ_CHUNK_SIZE_BYTES = 1024 * 1024as an explicitly unadopted candidate, not a measured optimum.await asyncio.to_thread(write, ...)could return on cancellation while the write was still running. Its test wrapper swallowed a closed-fileValueError; that masking is removed.Verified correctness, not performance
service.run_mineruwas stubbed. Valid PDF: 200 and one response page; malformed PDF: 415; invalid mode: 422; oversize: 413. Negative requests never entered the OCR stub; observed temporary paths were removed.Measurement status / retained nonacceptance
Previous 12 JSON files characterize a stubbed upload-copy path with invalid random
%PDF-payloads, validation and MinerU disabled, and starting 1-minute loads of approximately 188–393 on 10 CPUs. Retain them as exploratory observations only. Order rotations do not eliminate host-load confounding; they do not establish causal wall-time, responsiveness, throughput or a representative buyer-path advantage for any chunk size. The known mechanical call-count difference is not a performance result. The new correctness smoke is likewise not a timing result. At its execution, 1-minute load was approximately 212 on 10 CPUs, failing the explicitly declared comparison-admission threshold of load <= logical CPU count. No comparative timing was adopted.
Bounded local discovery found no usable MinerU executable/models and only one distinct rights-cleared PDF, not a representative corpus. Real MinerU end-to-end measurement is blocked until a compatible, model-ready authorized runtime and a quiet execution window are available. Do not merge this arbitrary 1 MiB candidate based on these exploratory observations; #534/#670 remain the evidence/coordination requirements.
Duplicate and separate-lane preservation
A complete inventory contained 274 open PRs at collection and 25 newer open upload-read candidates. #1018 was closed only after verifying that its complete source delta was already present in #709. #993 stays OPEN/Draft as preservation; no additional PR was closed here.
The earlier comment claiming all successors contained only chunk-size changes was corrected. In particular, #982 carries CVE exclusions; #981 carries form validation/tests/dependency changes; #973/#909/#751/#741/#724/#717 carry dependency/security-floor changes. Those are not completely inherited and must not be superseded as pure duplicates. #938/#931/#916/#902 currently carry DOM-builder changes; #923 has an empty diff. PDF-validation and multipart-validation owners remain separate.
Hosted gates
At preceding head
32e1593, all six failed jobs (dynamic CodeQL quality, fuzz, repository CodeQL, image, Scorecard and pytest) had zero executed steps and each returned its own account-billing-lock startup annotation. They were not product-test failures, but also not passing gates. No blind rerun, security exception, approval bypass or billing/credential change was performed. At the published heada0974d9, all six jobs independently returned the same billing-lock startup annotation with zero executed steps; complete returned annotation sets were checked.gh pr checks --jsonexited 0 while containing six failing buckets: retrieval success is not gate success. No rerun was performed.Remaining acceptance
