Summary

  • Copy only the two classification matrices from the isolated candidate, plus minimal test strategy and changelog updates.
  • Cover all 36 ordered pairs per policy boundary: six exact matches and 30 denied mismatches for disclosure and opaque-handle use.
  • Production behavior is already correct; this is a regression coverage expansion, not a production defect fix.

Evidence

Exact head: 23e4ca5c78b5930064b91ff28383c7df89843b44; base: 87c4daa1830bac5a5228b6036752ad5633232085.

  • Clean baseline focused test: 1 passed. Candidate focused tests: 3 passed.
  • Off-tree mutation replacing derived authority equality with equality of every field except classification: both new matrices fail on PublicData/InternalData; the existing single-pair test also fails. Mutation restored; no mutant source is committed.
  • A reused scratch target initially contaminated test artifacts; that run was rejected, and all acceptance gates below were rerun serially in a fresh exclusive external target with CPU build jobs=2.
  • cargo fmt --all --check: passed.
  • cargo test --locked --workspace --all-targets: 277 passed, zero failed or ignored across 60 test binaries.
  • cargo clippy --locked --workspace --all-targets -- -D warnings: passed.
  • RUSTDOCFLAGS="-D warnings" cargo doc --locked --workspace --no-deps: passed.
  • Python compile checks and unittest contracts: passed, 152 tests.
  • Checked all open PR files; overlapping PRs feat(sensitive): reserve opaque handle uses from authoritative state #46 and feat(sensitive): bind opaque handle use to audience #55 have single-pair tests, not these matrices.

Scope

No production, governance, workflow, lockfile, or security-policy changes. The original dirty source remains byte-preserved. Local checks do not claim CI, coverage, protected-main shipment, release, or merge; no review request or merge performed.

Classification documentation repair — exact head 438125e

Five meaningful Rust doc comments describe the canonical destination helper, classification metadata helper, and exact-classification authorization/disclosure regressions. Removing only these added comments restores the parent test file byte-for-byte; production and test executable behavior are unchanged. CHANGELOG.md and docs/TEST_STRATEGY.md document the scope.

Independent complete original-base-to-final SOURCE review: d4bd00d0158937fb25e1549ecf386110c995c55ff9a2997e3801ad9cee1e6377 (PASS, not a counted GitHub approval). Fresh committed-head verification: all nine gates passed; Rust 277 passed, zero failed/ignored; Python 152; production functions, lines, regions and branches each 100%. Normal non-force push verified the branch and PR head.

Hosted acceptance is NOT established. Current-head CodeQL and coverage annotations report billing admission denial; CodeRabbit reports review rate limited and retains a 75%/80% docstring warning. The updated overview mentions this head, but no fresh metric clearance is proven. Formal eligible approval and protected merge remain separate unmet gates. No billing, credentials, protections, or deployment changed.

  • Independent complete original-base-to-final source review: 4e33ed214b783d2f987c5bc460f1a08970a86c533916f63843a5bbd2f4b3735f, eight changed paths and 216 source files verified. Source-only PASS is not formal approval or operational acceptance.
  • Reviewed seven-path increment adopted; classification tests and production bytes retained. Fresh exact committed-head ten gates passed: Rust277, Python164, zero failed/ignored, production functions/lines/regions/branches100%, ordinary actionlint. Coverage SHA 4e281fa7ac8c3ba6e7012fb6b56eccb47ec92271a94d955353a646b78a5aef02. One normal non-force push verified branch and PR head.
  • CI, production coverage and MV3 require CWL CI isolated AND [self-hosted, Linux, X64, cwlab-ci-isolated], with no fallback or gate changes.
  • Actual current-head CI37185170722 and MV337185170729 failed with required group not found. Managed dynamic CodeQL37185169438 separately failed before execution due to billing lock. No runner/group/ACL/credential/payment/protection/deployment changes or reruns were made.
  • Scheduled workflow remains byte-identical and OW-SH-001 remains unfixed/deferred. Source conversion does not prove clean per-job isolation, eligible capacity or effective egress. Current formal approval, required checks, effective inherited protection and normal merge remain unmet.
  • Interrupted outer420-second wrapper retained; successful commit and gates0-1 were not replayed. Only incomplete exact test gate resumed after process/log custody settled, then remaining unchanged gates completed.

Checkout whitespace regression — verified publication on 2026-10-05 KST

Current published head: 03835e05cdb8bfed2a8df151d5d2313b0371b404; parent ff3f6b56cb52d556c894dcc2f12cdfa56fe84fa6; reviewed tree 483f5a6c83ec5f4563515556dc1688fe488e4251. Complete original-base source review SHA-256 7eb6c991ebc8614205df76717d43cf692cd5d89496dda5a66ba9db11fe48113a covers the entire current PR delta, not only the three-path repair. The checker accepts horizontal whitespace after uses: and retains quoted/unquoted checkout, literal-false, sibling-step and error-vs-assertion guards. Focused 14-test RED/GREEN evidence is retained. Only CHANGELOG, TEST_STRATEGY and the checker changed in this successor.

Fresh exact committed-head ten gates passed: Rust 277, Python 166, zero failed/ignored, production functions/lines/regions/branches each100%. Actual command/log receipts remain separate from source review and hosted acceptance.

One ordinary non-force push through the existing personal S1 connection was performed by the existing sole owner using the freshly verified same GitHub identity seonghobae. Only a hash-verified public-source incremental bundle was transferred; no credentials or persistent authentication settings changed. Initial PR-ref propagation lag was retained, then authenticated current PR-head equality was verified without another push. The Mac SecurityServer IPC issue is not claimed fixed.

Exact new-head Actions runs: 37215614872, 37215617211, 37215617265. All four jobs have runner_id0 and no executed steps. Three repository CI/coverage/MV3 jobs explicitly report required isolated runner group not found; the service-managed Code Quality Python analysis independently reports account billing lock/job not started. These are admission failures, not executed test or scanner findings. Scheduled workflow OW-SH-001 remains unfixed/deferred. No runner/group/ACL or managed scan setting was changed, no rerun or readiness toggle was issued. Current-head formal approval and governing protection remain independent; old-head review decisions do not authorize this successor. Ordinary merge and release are not complete.

Expand disclosure and opaque-handle classification regression coverage without changing production authorization behavior.

Change: Other

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 03835

This PR adds CI runner routing checks and more regression tests, and it leaves production policy behavior unchanged. I found no merge-blocking issue in the supplied changes. Hosted CI acceptance and runner provisioning are operational conditions that this change does not establish.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 03835

Pull-request code will execute on operator-managed runners whose clean-per-job isolation, credential scope, and access restrictions have not been demonstrated. Read-only repository permissions, credential-free checkout, and strict runner selection reduce exposure, but do not establish host isolation. No credential leak or runner compromise was verified.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: The new self-hosted execution boundary admits PR-controlled build and test code, while clean-per-job isolation and restricted host authority remain unverified operator requirements. If those requirements are not implemented, malicious execution could retain state, affect subsequent jobs, or reach ambient credentials and network resources. This is an unresolved security dependency, not a verified compromise.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The established exposure is the host execution environment selected for admitted PR jobs and subsequent CI jobs in this group. Exposure of other repositories, production services, tenants, or data stores cannot be determined without runner access, network, and credential configuration. The unchanged hosted hourly workflow does not establish a new PR-to-publisher path.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — A contributor whose PR run is admitted can supply executable build or test content. If the selected hosts retain compromised state or expose ambient authority, that execution could affect later runs or access host resources beyond the read-only repository token. Actual admission restrictions, persistence, and privileged resource reachability remain unknown; this is a conditional attack path, not a verified vulnerability.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The PR execution boundary now relies on operator-managed runner isolation in addition to workflow permissions and checkout controls. Group-plus-label selection constrains routing, but documentation explicitly warns that its name and labels do not prove access restrictions, provisioning, or a clean environment.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — PR concurrency cancellation controls which run remains active, not the cleanup of processes or state created by that run. The inspected CI and MV3 workflows do not establish runner teardown after success, failure, cancellation, interruption, or retry. External lifecycle controls may provide that guarantee, but their ownership and behavior were unavailable.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Before admitting PR code, establish a recorded readiness gate for group eligibility, narrowly scoped host credentials and networking, disposable or independently verified clean environments, and teardown across cancellation, interruption, retry, and reuse. Bind acceptance to the exact workflow revision and runner identity, and define a rollback that preserves required checks without substituting privileged shared hosts.
