History Brush is a tool that behaves like a brush but instead of painting the image with some algorithm color or something, it paints with the original image state before being edited, so if you did some editing and you want to restore certain parts of the image to its original state, like you exaggerated into a correction or painting, and you can correct just that tiny part to the original image state that the file was opened, it is a really good tool to have.
i don't know if could behave case by case like layer by layer, but on a general photo, it holds the original image state in memory and after the image is all edited and you wanna repaint a certain part like the original state you can paint it using history brush.
Thanks, that's a nice idea! There's no history brush in FerrumPix right now. Since the original is always kept around for the before/after view, painting parts of it back in is something I'll look into. Retouching and brush strokes would be the easier part, while undoing slider adjustments in just one area is a bigger piece of work.
