Where the authority is

This wiki is a convenience. When it disagrees with the repository, the repository is right:

• .env.example lists every setting the code reads, with the reasoning beside each one, and a test fails if a live setting is missing from it.
• tango --help and tango doctor describe the commands and your actual setup.
• README.md is the front page and the PyPI description.

Every page here was rewritten on 9 September 2026 after an audit found the wiki contradicting the code in a dozen places, including two settings that no longer existed and advice to hardcode a WSL address that turns off a fallback which now works by itself.
