Retired network/telecom engineer with 30+ years in technical solution design and pre-sales, including two decades at IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation, working on large-scale enterprise and carrier networks across the Nordics and Europe.

My programming background goes back further than my telecom career: I learned machine code in the Royal Danish Navy in 1978, and in 1984–1986 I taught Pascal and C programming, including courses for IT staff at American Airlines and Air Canada. From 1998–2002 I developed a GUI-based application (Windows & Mac) for configuring ADSL network equipment — the software was sold to TDC.

These days I channel that experience into OpenSAK — a free, open-source, cross-platform geocache management app for Linux, Windows, and macOS, built as a modern successor to GSAK. I'm the creator and primary developer, working alongside my co-developer Fabio on architecture, CI/CD, and major features.

Background in network architecture, systems integration, and hands-on software development — now applied to building tools for the geocaching community in my retirement.
