💡 What

Optimized the rendering of BatchItem in the paginated CoffeeBatch list. Wrapped the item in React.memo with a custom comparison function that bypasses re-rendering for items that remain hidden on another page. Additionally, deferred rendering the heavy <QRCode> element (which generates SVGs/Canvas elements) until the item is visible on the current page.

🎯 Why

The application uses ReactHTMLTableToExcel for exports, which forces all paginated items to remain in the DOM structure (via a hide CSS class). When switching pages, all hundreds or thousands of these hidden elements were undergoing React reconciliation, and rendering the expensive <QRCode> components needlessly. This caused extreme layout thrashing and sluggish pagination.

📊 Impact

  • DOM & Render Speed: Prevents unnecessary React re-renders for hidden rows during pagination (e.g. going from page 1 to 2 no longer re-evaluates pages 3-100).
  • Resource Usage: Eliminates the processing overhead of rendering hundreds of unseen Canvas/SVG elements.
  • Export Integrity: Perfectly maintains the table's DOM structure required for the HTML-to-Excel feature without sacrificing pagination speed.

🔬 Measurement

  1. Load a long list of batches.
  2. Switch pages via pagination.
  3. Observe snappier UI response and lower CPU usage as hidden elements bypass rendering entirely.
