Description

Move to Node 22.23.4, the October security release, and stop the Next.js image optimizer from fetching images from any HTTPS host.

Changes made

  • Dockerfile: base image node:22.23.3-bookworm-slim → node:22.23.4-bookworm-slim.
  • next.config.js: remove images.remotePatterns (hostname: '**'). Neither Lite nor splits-kit uses next/image, so the optimizer has no callers. With no allowed hosts, it rejects remote URLs.

How has this been tested?

Built the standalone server and ran it locally:

  • GET / returns 200.
  • GET /_next/image/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.githubassets.com%2Ffavicons%2Ffavicon.png&w=64&q=75 returns 400 "url" parameter is not allowed.

Other notes

Deploying needs a new splits-lite release and a version bump in releases.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

22.23.4 is the October security release. Nothing in Lite or splits-kit
uses next/image, so the image optimizer no longer needs to fetch from
any HTTPS host.
