Dashboard has an awful theme :(

I am trying to play a bit with py4web, as I am planning to migrate some of my web2py applications to it. Unfortunatelly, I find the default dark theme terribly hard on the eyes - to the point that I cannot really work with it at all. Especially the errors with black font on a bright red background is just impossible to look at! :(

I looked a bit at the code, but it seems that a lot of styling is actually hardcoded, so adding a differet theme does not seem very straight forward. It is a real pity - I found the light theme in the web2py admin panel to be much better! I would greatly appreciate such a light theme in py4web dashboard as well...

I agree, it feels like somebody was trying to make it look "cool" (with that loading animation). It just looks unprofessional IMO. Its actually the reason I went straight back to web2py. Just couldn't stomach the look of it.

I have been meaning to make an issue of this as well. Searching in the code is impossible because the find results highlighting is almost the same as the background color. Also the red on black for errors is impossible to read.

I have to agree. I downloaded py4web for the first time last night and the UI is just awful and I couldn't stand looking at it. I immediately deleted py4web because of it, but I may try it again soon to give it a fair shake of the stick.

The login page looks like something out of a bad hacking movie, and the dashboard looks 20 years out of date. I hate to be rude about this, but it really does look unprofessional and will deter more people than it attracts.

Let's make a competition: Propose a better one. It is what it is because it was quick to write, functional, small therefore easy to maintain. You can propose css only changes or a full redesign.
